2) however, it's bad to just rip things from other games, hence why my version never saw release.
youre using "2k4" very vaguely right? its not even close to ut2k4.. 2k4 is the one with GOOD graphics need i remind you... anyway... it might be cool if it was more ut2k4 quality.. i always liked that style... industrial type of stuff..

it wouldn't matter if it came from BF2 or Doom 3 ROE, things like Bump-mapping, Specular and Normal maps are not supported in the HL1 engine, so all you would have is the plain texture. I havn't played UT2K4 so im not sure if it has bump-mapping, specular, normal maps, but i asume it does. tbh there is no real point ripping player models from other games, they will look crap with default animations, but if you plan to re-animate it then go ahead.

i know that it wouldnt work.. im just saying that i like the way unreal tournament player models look but the only truely good looking ones were in ut2k4 imo..

point taken, although i think the models in UT2K3 arn't much different, my favourite player model would be the marine in ROE with his helmet, he would rock in NS, but as i said, no specular or bump-maps oh well maybe it would be better off in NS Source.
spec? yes they do. The others? nope.
