Conflicting Binds

<div class="IPBDescription">User vs. Options</div> For a couple of months, I changed my binds using the options menu. Then last week, I changed my jump bind to MWheelUp and MWheel Down through my console. Then I went to switch the binds back to their default using options. When I tried to jump, my mousewheel was still used for jumping rather than the spacebar. When I enter unbind all in console and manually assign binds in options, some binds don't work, such as the attack bind. Also, when I assigned my mousewheel for weapon switches, MWheelUp acted with HUD_fastswitch 1 while MWD acted with HUD_fastswitch 0.

Very weird and frustrating >.<
I had to reinstall NS

    I've had bind probs in trying to put a /say command... I'd like to get speak lines such as rt, tf, ha, hmg to my keyboard, so wouldn't have to stop to type each time. a friend of mine managed to do that, but even with the console's help stuff about binding, I can't do that...

    @ subxero;
    I've had that issue as well..I think it just might be a bug or something with NS

    @ jarod:
    To bind a key to say something, open up your console and type: bind <key> "say <message>"
    Example: bind h "say medpack"
    <b>or</b> bind h "say_team medpack"

    The say_team command sends the message to your team only, while the say command sends it to everyone in the game. Just replace the key and message with whatever you'd like.

    This is the precise reason why it is recommended to ALWAYS make backups of the original files, if you plan on changing them...

    Simply renaming the default file to config.bak, then starting NS would have side-stepped this nasty mess, as if you screw the bindings up, then you just rename the file back to config.cfg...
