Ever heard of SIDS? Do you REALLY think the baby MEANT to lay there and not breathe?

QUOTE

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is when an infant one month or older dies suddenly with no apparent cause, usually while sleeping. SIDS is also called crib death, although cribs do not cause the syndrome, and children can die of it when they are not in their cribs. SIDS mostly strikes infants between two and four months of age. Once a child is six months old, the risk of SIDS goes down substantially.

Although we do not know what causes SIDS, we have learned how to prevent many cases: Infants should always sleep face up, on their backs, never face down. The national "Back to Sleep" campaign, which teaches parents to put their babies to sleep on their backs, has cut the rate of SIDS in half, saving thousands of babies each year.

Because this is such an important message, I'm going to repeat it: Always put your baby to sleep on his back, never face down.

Well if the parents were stupid enough to leave their 2 month old child alone, I think we should be glad that they won't reproduce.

    NEVER SHAKE A BABY

(ok, enough australian propoganda for now. seriously, there was a poster in my school with this cricket player staring at you and the words" Never shake a baby" at the bottom. that's all there was. now i completely agree with the message, shaking babies is wrong.. and.. weird... but i mean, do they have to tell you? )

Also, i agree with those people who said that the same could have happened if the parents went to the pub or whatever, however i also agree that tha parents are at fault for leaving the child unnatended. I am also upset at the baby for suffocating itself, i mean human beings have just about the most retarded infants of all the animals, even snakes can like slither around and kick **** right after their born. but human babies just roll over and die. pretty weird if you ask me.

Not just an Australian thing. We have a billboard here in Oklahoma that has that slogan w/ a guy who could be a double for Andre The Giant. I almost got in a wreck cause I was laughing so damn hard.

This is sad news indeed. I mean yeah it probably was SIDS and their was nothing they could do, but who the hell leaves a baby unattended?

I don't really think that the parents did anything too wrong here...
The baby probably died of SIDS, which means that at ANY TIME the baby could have died... If the parents were sleeping and the baby died, the parents wouldn't be charged of recklessness. You may say that they should have gotten a babysitter, in which they should have, but blaming the death of a baby that has SIDS on the parents isn't right. Even if there was a babysitter to keep the baby from being back down, which is I think is or should be a standard for babysitting, the baby would die later in while the parents are sleeping. You may say that the babysitter might find out that the baby has SIDS, but for one to find out, you actually have to put the baby's on its front side on the floor and watch it suffocate.

Actually, I find dead babies quite funny. And a relief, as that means at least ONE less kid that 'child safety' crap won't be able to save.

If no one can tell, I'm a great proponent for letting retarded redneck and yuppie-wombspawn kill themselves off before they waste too much of my air, or the food that could go to more deserving organisms than their squalling, yawping progeny.

If I ever manage to have a kid, ZERO child safety locks. I want to know that my son or daughter will be intelligent or lucky enough to make it through early life, which might just carry over into a more useful individual than the kind that have made Starbucks a viable ****ing company, and car manufacturers HAVE to put out ****ty-*** SUV pieces of **** just to remain viable.

And if anyone has a problem with that... fine. Don't have a kid with me. That easy.

i think SIDS was only recently discovered, like less than a decade ago. up until it was diagnosed, for thousands of years babies died for no reason and no one knew why. long story short: always watch babies and don't let them turn over to their stomachs cause their lungs are too weak to breathe with their body weight on them. tragic, yes, but losing their child is bad enough i think, i see no need to charge them with a crime

    It is, isn't it.

    ::EDIT::
I agree with Talesin on this. I didn't get any child safety locks and that ****. Hell I was opening doors for other people, saying please and thank you and fighting criminals at age 4. In all honesty though, my mother told me there was a time that an empty wine bottle fell off a cupboard and shattered on the floor. When my brother, who was like 5 at the time, approached it, what did he do? He started bringing the pieces to the trashcan. Most **** kids would just walk over it while crying and wondering why their feet hurt so much.

But its not the parent's fault, they have Excuse A, Situation B, and Circumstance C on their side.

Some people though physically fit to have children, should not. They were better off not having a child so they could play their clearly more important game.

I hope they get felony charges.

God damn, let's get WOW banned and then wait for the next 'game' in the queue.
    Natural Selection next anyone?

These things are sad but the parents are to blame. Life comes before WOW,even though WOW is better. (j/k)
The media will do no favours by blaming the game's addictive qualities, but part of that comes from addictive personalities within people. Blame the name, not just the game. You chose to play it after all.

Btw,I reckon it was a rogue on the baby. NERF ROGUES!
Seriously though, these things are disturbing, like the one with the katana and the online money thing.

I am still waiting for an adverting that says "Gaming kills". Just like the drinking/smoking/sleeping at the wheel type ones. Seems to be quite alot of deaths due to gaming lately
