2 Problems Video And Ports

prob 1:
what ports do i need to open becouse im going through a router, its for when i do host from my pc on the net for ns.

just let me know what ones to open, it goes from my pc to a network then a router then the dsl hub thing.



prob 2:
this happends not very often, when i get an error on ns, and other games that changes the brightness and resulution, i get back to the desktop with an extremely bright screen!

    second prob :: I get that also when using opengl or d3d forget which, switch them around fixed it for me, one is crustier than the other but not much init really.

    Ports info is in the servers section or on steam support, sorry not enough time to get links.

    Brightness/contrast issue:
    This is a common problem, as the brightness and contrast get normalised when the game changes them. When the game engine quits unexpectedly, the B/C settings do not get reset, as this is normally something which the engine deals with when it is sent a close request. Nothing can fix this, aside from a reboot. Sorry...

    There is a handy little program bundled with NS called resetgamma.exe, its in your NS directory. Run that for any gamma abnormalities in windows.
