<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone own an xbox?</div>I was wondering if any of the xbox owners out there have played or own RalliSport Challenge. I am considering buying it after Project Gotham left me a bit disappointed in terms of gameplay. All the reviews I've read about it have been positive, and no doubt the visuals are amazing, but I just thought I'd get a few opinions before sending Gates a few extra dollars. <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

I have an xbox - it's really, really good. Like about 50 times better than Gotham. I definitely recommend it, and not just because I love rally racing (I have a 98 MItsubishi Eclipse GSX AWD, if that provides a clue of how much).

nah, never liked xbox, its not as good as i thought it would be.. ps2 however... is a different story.. (dont flame me, too many posts about console have gone into flame wars)

Well... I decided to opt for the xbox over the ps2 due to its raw power and speed. And Halo.

While the PS2 really does have some great games on it, due to the brand's popularity, I'm quite satisified with the Xbox.

The only problem is that there does seem to be a shortage of big name games coming to the system. They flood to the PS2.

It's kind of a shame though, considering that with all the power the xbox has, and what it is capable of doing, probably won't be even touched on... The vast majority of the games coming to it will probably be PS2 ports.

I would really like to see a bucketload of games come out that really push the thing to it's ends rather then games ported over from a system with far less power. THEN people would understand what it's all about.

Have you checked out some of those latest Unreal Championship (UT2003) shots? They're amazing.

But really, when it all comes down to it, Xbox has Halo, and PS2 doesn't. So there. <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Actually, the Gamecube is starting to rack up the big name titles as well. Final Fantasy is coming back to it. It's got Metroid, Zelda, and Mario as always, and they're doing a Resident Evil remix on it. They've also got a Sonic game of some sort on there.

I'm gonna get one once prices come down a bit more.

By the way, the limits of xbox allready have been pushed a bit, try playing halo with four people, talk about lacking in the framerates..... Yeah, I'd really like to see the xbox get a chance to shine since it could put a whipping on any other console. Hopefully, bungie will bust out with something even better, though halo is kind of hard to beat.

Oh yeah, speaking of Halo.... The XBox is nothing but a weaker version of my own computer. It's got an ATI Radeon VE graphics card, and some sort of three digit processor. Mine's a four digit (1.4GHz) and a Radeon DDR 64MB. Since Halo is going to be coming out on PC as well, my computer will rock the XBox.

Actually, the Xbox has the equivalent of an nVidia Geforce3 card... not anything ATI. nVidia is doing some reallly spiffy things with their cards. (Or was that just a typo? Or am I totally in the dark about current company mergers... <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> )

While your processor speed may be faster in numbers, keep in mind that your pc is also bogged down with your OS and other programs that run constantly. The xbox isnt.

But yeah, the GameCube definately looks to be gettin some hot titles heading its way. That resident evil remake looks really really nice.

But hey... if your computer is better then the xbox (if it indeed is), then it's also a hell of a lot better then the PS2 or GameCube... Not sure why people always make that reference.

Lol ken, I agree with Molculor, my computer can handle alot of stuff. Well, I think people dont get the xbox because its made my microsoft. Not because they might hate the, because if microsoft sells it for Xbox and it is liked, it will obviously come to PC unless they are stupid <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> So people get the Gamecube for Super Smash Bro's or PS2 for Final Fantasy which are great games...and exclusives (at least for now)

Sure, my own computer is technically a lot more powerful then the xbox, but what can I say? I have an xbox, I have played the xbox, and it rocks... Simple. <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I'm not trying to cut down on the other systems. Just defending my own, for whatever reason I am so inclined to do so... who knows.

Reading this thread, one name pops up: Atari.

Remember the Lynx and the Jaguar? Both were incredible machines at their times (like the XBox), both were technologically far superior (like the XBox), both had <b>very</b> few good titles in their line-up (like the XBox).

I can only hope that the XBox won't share their fate, Microsoft hater that I am I still see the advantages of one more big name in the race, but right now, it seems a little like that.

I have an Xbox also, if you dont already have Halo I just picked up Jet Set Radio Future. Its a blast to play, and will tide me over until Battlefield 1942 or Dark Black. Circus Maximus sucked, and so did Wreckless: Yakuza. RIght now im pretty dissapointed with the selection of games =\. But I think in the long run, Xbox will be way ahead of Gamecube and PS2. Almost all my friends, with PS2s had some sort of technical problem with it, even up to the point of not reading brand new games/dvds.

Xbox = w00t.

I used to be a heavy console gamer..I own Jaguar, Atari, Sega Genesis, SNES, N64, and Playstation..Then I realized something..You spend all this money on new, updated consoles and their games, when you could easily spend less money for more games for your computer which, in most cases, you can upgrade for free. So I've just switched to computer games. I get more enjoyment out of multiplayer, anyway.

Sorry for the Off Topic post, but It's just something that had to be said about video games..

Besides, X-box is just like a little computer.

All flames aside, the X-Box's major issue right now is that it's so new; it takes time for development studios to come up with titles for a new system. When the PS2 and Dreamcast came out, it took months for there to be a large selection of decent games. Another cool feature no one mentioned is the built-in ethernet connection. I have used my PC as a router, and was able to play 16-player Halo on the Internet, which is something other platforms can't do.

That being said, I highly recommend these upcoming X-Box titles, Ken. Most look to be pwnage:
