Okay, I gave it an honest review.

It's awesome. It's kinda silly how they make drama out of everything, but it's a pretty sweet story based on American Football. It reminds of that Animatrix movie about the athlete runner.

Meh. I'm not a huge sports manga fan really. If I'm going to read a comic, it's got to get away from stereotypical plots as best as possible. Though I have heard some good things about Eyeshield.

You want an insane plot with memorable characters and new ideas? Go for the "out there" stuff. Something like; Death Note or Blame!, though I've only just started Blame! so I'll have to go deeper into that one before I really have a good judgement on it.

I think you guys can trust my judgements but just so you know Death Note is sort of a Battle of Wits thing. There's no power battles or that sort of garbage. It's about these two guys out thinking each other and eventually going against other people. I can't explain much without breaking the plot. But if you want to know, just say so.

I don't know about a stereotypical plot, but it definitely has memorable characters.

Ehehe. For me, I dont think anything will top Blame!, and I read a LOT of manga. Maybe Ill bother with ES21 sometime, but Ive never been big on sports. But then again, I never realized Bread could be so facinating... Yakitate Japan ftw!

    /EDIT
Oh, for those of you that didnt know (Probably 99.99% of this forum) my Avatar is from Blame!, and my Sig is derived from Noise, the prequel to Blame!

See that's what I like about the comic vs. the animation. When it comes to the comic, lots of character interaction and even a whole like 3 chapters straight of characters just talking is ok. Because detailed situations and technical breakdowns of said situations just makes sense in manga format. So you get some really interesting stories.

On the other had, when the animation comes out, all people want is physical action. As great as that is, it doesn't leave room for all the stuff that was so great to read in the manga.

I hope I'm making some sense here...

OK idea; Take Hunter x Hunter for instance. Anyone read the manga? That was maybe one of my favorite mangas of all time. (One of.) Going back and watching the anime I loved it, but I noticed that I was impatient for the great fights. The hell? Since when, while reading the comic, was I more enthralled by the fights then by the overall storyline? See what I mean? Animation detracts from comics in certain senses. People lose touch with the plot because it's hard to top yesterday's work with todays.

    Does that make sense?
