Lag Spikes When Action

I have unplayable lags with a high ping when i come in an area with more action in it.
Most, when i play alien and i come to a few marines or rines and turrets, my ping goes up and i lag badly.
Its only, when im on a server with more then 12 players.
I have a geforce 4, AMD 3,5 k 64 bit.

Probably i can fix it over the settings in the game?

These are my settings and they work very well for me. They could use some tweaking depending on what system you have.
Also, try to narrow out any running processess you have, AIM, ICQ, Limewire, Winamp etc etc and try cleaning your system out for spyware. I have Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAware as well as Microsoft Anti-spyware.
Im not sure if you have the same issue, but Im noticing that many, many people are getting this issue since the last client update, most putting it down to "dodgy internet connections" when all there other games including hl1 mods are fine :S

I tried the settings, and now its worse then before.
Now my Ping gets to 2000 instead of 800 and im not able to fight anymore.
Can someone tell me the normal settings? I still have mine, but i changed it before.
I have Adaware, Spybot, CW-Shredder and NAV already on my PC.
And i tried already to close every other process, still no effect.
