Blink Problems

How the hell do you use blink? I only managed to use it once. I tried aiming at walls and floor and objects, but i just swings claws and nothing happens except energy goes down

I have some difficulties with it too, however it works better for me lately. I was told to use it while Jump-Crouch and it works for about 7 meters, but the best way I use it is when I jump down something ( a ramp or anything ) when its pretty high, I click and get to the other end of the room.

    Thats due to lag.
    I also have heavy problems.
Try to jump and while in air use blink.

Sorry, no other help from me.

Blink is a bit tricky to use because in order for it to work, there has to be a clear path to where you want to blink to, and some buffer room around the model at the destination.

This is fine except most ns maps tend to be cramped. The work around is do a duck jump, select blink, jump in the air, mid-jump hit your crouch key and while you are crouched hit blink. This technique should improve your blinking ability considerably.

I tend to be able to blink better when i aim slightly higher then where i want to go along with the crouch jumping technique.

Blink usually tends to work better if you:

    A) Look up slightly
    B) Crouch
    C) Jump/Crouchjump
    D) All of the above

Be careful not to blink into a wall or a building.

Im not boasting - but just use the darn thing when theres a distance to cover - great on long corridors (takes some time to get used to...) and up and down levels. Should see the marines trying to get you in a corridor - there so sure your invisible!! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
To be used to move your seige to the other side of a marine base - or directly into a marine base - without getting to poo shot out of you.

    Some of my friends think I'm a blink-master, and maby I am? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Blink is my absolute favourite ability, and I use it as much as I can...
Insane summed it up pretty well. I usually duck and aim a bit up on the wall I want to go to... but be careful not to blink towards buildings or teammates, or you might get stuck... also be VERY careful not to blink into any func_walls or other solid brush entities, because then you almost certanly will get stuck... the ceiling in the marine spawn on ns_tanith is mostly made out of solid brush entities, and I've gotten stuck there many times...

Is there any way to know where you will Blink to?

I havent seen someone manage to pull blinking infront of a marine then killing him with claws technique.........

Its only a matter of time before script kiddies make a script to get it done.......

One tip that's sometimes useful is that you should try to aim towards flat walls while blinking. For instance, you can usually blink clear across Bast's Tram Tunnel with just one click, because both ends of the hallway are flat.

Why is this, I was under the impression you could "blink" through walls.

    ...
footage exists of Fades disappearing from one side of a wall, and appearing on the other

Which would explan why I've just been shot in the back everything I've played with Blink, tring to go though a wall <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Also you can use blink to prevent falling damage. Just select blink, jump into the elevator shaft, look down and blink. There you are. The reverse is also true, don't use the lifts if you can, just point at the corridor overhead and blink. This has several advantages: you don't have to wait for the lift and nobody can hear the it moving, thus increasing stealth. Plus it's good to get practice at blinking. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

This is quite helpful. I'll have to perfect my technique on some poor marines when I get home.

Anyone else have an issue where it won't go through doorways? I played with Blink in a private game in caged... And from the marine base I could tyr to blink from inside to the hallway by aiming at the wall, but I would never get past the doorway. It's like the code lookedt it as a wall.

I tried to blink into the commanders room from the floor, same thing.. Also when trying to blink from the main area into the nozzle section of the marine base.. always stopped at the doorway.

I haven't seen anyone else mention that in the other blink topics yet.. Mebbe I missed it
