*sigh*
9 out of 10 times i start the game and I cant filter, I mean I have X by ns and dedicated server and with ppl playing and not full but i press update and it loads EVERY server for EVERY mod. and like i said this is 9 out of 10 times tho the 1 time it does actually filter i get this:
CSTRIKE caused an invalid page fault in
module FMOD.DLL at 0177:0c74352a.

and then CS crashes and i have to restart cs. I tried restarting my comp which didnt make any difference. any advice?

Go download HLSW from www.hlsw.net and refresh your NS list (and every other mod). Get info on the servers you are interested in, write down their server ip adresses (and port&#33, and the enter them in one by one into HLSW.

If you have HLSW set up correctly (follow the directions), you should be able to view the list of servers out of game and be able to connect while out of game.

    Better than gamespy.

Don't you think manual adding of servers is kinda annoying? Just download .hlla, set a filter, and press start to receive a list of all active NS Servers directly from the WON server.

this happens to me too, what I do is exit out of the game and restart it. Then it works, sometimes I have to do it up to three times but I get it eventually.

edit: actually every HL game does this to me

I've had problems with every WON server but half-life.west.won.net, so I just redirected the hostnames of the other two to the IP of west. Since doing this, I haven't had any problems. If you're interested, I'll post more detailed instructions.
