<div class="IPBDescription">it dosen't show up on the server list</div> when i star up my server its not on the server list and i would like to know why that is
ok well it cant open port 27015 for the HLDS when i do it says fatal error n' stuff Warnning: UDP_OpenSocket: port: 27015 bind: WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL i think the problem may be that i have been running a CS:S server but not at the same time <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif' /><!--endemo-->
its warning you that port 27015 is not available. you probably have a left over hlds.exe process still running that crashed some time ago. look in the process manager and kill anything that looks like "hlds.exe" or some such. if that doesnt work, restart your computer and try again.
and if that still doesnt work, specify a different port in the startup paramaters.
Ya i figured as much i tryed to change the port but it still tryed to oped 27015 i saw no HLDSs running at the time when i run HLDS with out any parameters it does fine but i wont show up on the list i think this may be that the new version may hide that error??

Are you putting the +ip XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX in your start up command line? If so, remove it and try again. The HLDS server does not like being told to bind to an IP address that is not physically assigned to the machine.
Then make sure you have the port opened at the router that you used in your startup command line. If you have a CS server on +port 27015 then use +port 27016 for your NS server.
Can i have a screenshot of the error? ARE YOU SURE THERE ARE NO PROCESSES USING THAT PORT, Just because HL isnt using it doesnt mean others cant, Check if you have A teamspeak server on that port, or a winamp radio station I dont know CHECK CHEC CHECK!!!, if you see any of those on your prosses list END TASK IT, then try if you get an error then...you did something wrong....
i changed the prot to 27016 and it still couldnt find the Valve Auth servers. i opened thoughts ports too. heres a pic <a href='http://www.imageshack.us' target='_blank'><img src='http://img296.echo.cx/img296/6544/error4th.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a>

and if that still doesnt work, specify a different port in the startup paramaters.
example:
+port 27016
i tryed to change the port but it still tryed to oped 27015
i saw no HLDSs running at the time
when i run HLDS with out any parameters it does fine
but i wont show up on the list
i think this may be that the new version may hide that error??

Try this:
<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->
hlds.exe -game ns -maxplayers 12 +map co_core -console +port 27015 +mapchangecfgfile "server.cfg" +exec banned.cfg
<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
Then make sure you have the port opened at the router that you used in your startup command line. If you have a CS server on +port 27015 then use +port 27016 for your NS server.
I don't have a "banned.cfg" file, so I removed the +exec banned.cfg from the command line.

Thats my command line to start... any help you guys could give me would be awesome.
Also, if it still won't show up in the list, go into Natural Selection and type into the console:
connect serverip:port
Which should connect you to the server.
