Nothing. There is a random chance that any given round will have "easter eggs" turned on. They are little audio jokes that pop up every now and again. The two I remember from the aliens (only they have them now) is:
"Now, we dance."

and

"This place is a mess!"

The former when we're winning (3rd hive before a certain point?) and the latter when we're losing (no third hive by the same point?).

theres many, my fav is "this is my hive, there are many like it...but this one is mine"

I've heard 'this place is a mess' when both teams attacked the same point at the same time. Had about 7 alien deaths and 8 marine deaths inside 20 seconds. 'now, we donce' is when you get 3rd hive sometimes. those are the only two i remember hearing.

According to Flayra, the "this place is a mess" sound actually plays when the game does a check on structures - if there are X number of buildings within a certain radius (of a player? not sure) when the check is performed, and a easter egg is "scheduled," the hive will say "This place is a mess!" It will only happen once.

Never heard any but that one and "Now... we donce!" in-game. And it *is* dOnce, not dAnce.

Noooo, it's "Now we dance". Just because it is said with a british accent doesn't mean the spelling changes. If that were a requirement of a language to incorporate inflection, tone and regional accent shifts then we'd never have a written language. Ah mean do ya expekt a bawstawner to write like this? Nope.

Umm.. greydmiyu, perhaps you should look at the title of the person you are correcting. If he says it's donce, it's donce.

titles dont automatically make someone correct, altho in Coils case he is correct 99.9 percent of the time. (give or take 0.01)

[sigh]
It's donce. It was donce long before the game was released. I'm not sure what inside joke started it all, I just know it was donce. (Read some of the oooldd forum posts and comics.)

Yeah, and? Why is it donce? I don't care what a person's title is. While there is a lot of things I'd clearly not correct Coil on I'm not going to say a misspelling of a word because of accent is accurate. That'd be like saying, "He said D3wd, not dude."

It's donce. And it's exactly what this is (the it's d3wd not dude). So don't get all freaked out about it. If you spent any time in IRC on any of the popular natural selection channels you'd know about teh donce. I suppose you could call it an inside joke that few inside the community don't know.

Sorry, I don't do teh, pwn, pr0n or donce. Popular misspellings because of typos was funny for about half an hour back in, what, '91 or so? Typos don't a dialect make.

Sheesh, don't get your panties in a knot.

"Doncing" began, to my knowledge, in #naturalselection on Gamesnet. It's a long-standing NS tradition, and is quite distinct from its much less interesting distant cousin, "dancing." Ask MonsE his feeling on doncing some time; he loves to talk about it.

So yes, it's "donce" - and Flayra actually told me that the script he gave to the voice actress said "donce" and not "dance" - but there's no reason to start WW3 over it. Just laugh and go donce with some meatpops. Sw33t.

No no no you have it all wrong, Doncing was started by Mazy from #mapcore about a year or more ago. It was all the rave back in the day, but you all are still living in the 00s!

Isn't "And now we Donce" what Mike Myers used to say in that SNL skit "Sprockets"? U know...the one where he was the host of a German nihilists TV show. They were dressed in black Lycra and at the end of every skit they'd say "And now we donce!" and proceed to do this hilareous rendition of the German funky chicken? (the "O" because of the cheesy German accent)
Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Classy, i wish the person that brought it into the NS community would explain it once and for all. I initially thought it was "dance", but hey.. i've never heard of "donce".
Besides, alien saying are damn classy.. especially "now, we donce" when you get third hive.. i hear it alll the time and it really does make me giggle when i'm cloaked and about to evolve into an onos right behind a couple of unwary marines
