    Heh when I used to play CS the auto shotgun was the "noob cannon". Nowadays it seems the AWM and the Autosnipers get called "noob cannon". Sucks when things change.

    I've never heard the shotgun in CS called "shotty." It's called "pump." There's even a map called "pumpo" (it's pumps vs. pumps, but the gun-type; stupid flapper fans). The Auto Shotgun (noob cannon, rarely. mostly just called "auto") is fairly popular on worlds like iceworld, but rarely everywhere else where range is an issue.

    It comes from the era of the stagecoach. Usually someone sits next to the driver with a shotgun as protection, hence 'riding shotgun'. Cobain is the seat behind the shotgun seat. I don't know what the seat behind the driver is, but the middle seat is known as a disagreeable woman (the word filter won't let me type it).
