<div class="IPBDescription">Initial styleconcepts and layouts</div> When the 137th marine corps was called on the ice planet Anchor to investigate the problems of the TSA Station Argon it seemed like a routine duty.
What could´ve gone that much wrong on a supply base that the marines would be called.
The situation was still unclear, since the first transmission suddenly broke up.
Just in case the TSA cruiser Archimedes had brought a complete new set of communications equipment with them, to replace the obvioulsly broken parts.

When the marines arrived on Argon everything seemed in order.
It was just another small, clean outer rim station:

<img src='http://home.arcor.de/kingurmel/Maps/Screens/argon2.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<img src='http://home.arcor.de/kingurmel/Maps/Screens/argon4.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

The only thing out of place was, that all personell was missing.
There were no notes, no records, nothing.
Surly they didn´t evacuate, it was much to cold out there to survive for long, even with the right equipment.
<img src='http://home.arcor.de/kingurmel/Maps/Screens/argon3.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

The computer wasn´t a help either.
Because of some malefunction it had gone into full lockdown mode and denied all access attempts.
The Archimedes was searching for the missing personall with all its scanner arrays, when the Science officer noticed something strange: The mountain the Argon base was built in had much more mass lost than such a small base should´ve caused.

Deep scans confirmed that soon after: There were many shafts, corridors and halls driven deep in the mountain that didn´t appear on any of the blueprints.

Soon after that the marines detected the entrance to this hidden network of tunnels beneath the official supply base.
The whole lower area was without power and the computer denied all access to that part of the station..

Doors were welded open, security alarms shut down and emergency power established. The investigation was in full progress, when the first troops down there noticed that deep in the mountain it was quite warm and moist.
Water dripping everywhere from the ceiling, echoing through the empty corridors.

Down here there were signs of fighting everywhere. Bulletholes through important datacores, human blood over seats and banks and stains from what appeared to be a flamethrower, but no bodies. Every room was empty as the ones before.

The marines ventured farther into the unknown through rooms filled with equipment they never had seen in the tsa before.
What was this place? Some sort of illegal Laboratory?

When they came to some sort of elevator
<img src='http://home.arcor.de/kingurmel/Maps/Screens/argon5.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

wich was without power, like everything one of them kneeled, looking down the shaft.
"Man, how deep is this thing?" he questioned more himself than his buddies.
He took a bullet out of his extra pistol clip and thrw it down the shaft
<img src='http://home.arcor.de/kingurmel/Maps/Screens/argon6.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

after waiting half a minute ther was still no sound.
But suddenly he had the feeling of being watched.
There, wasn´t there a movement up on that grate?
He flung around trying to break the darkness with his eyes,
but there wasn´t anything up there.
<img src='http://home.arcor.de/kingurmel/Maps/Screens/argon7.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

"I´ve got a bad feeling about this!" he said.
Lets better move on he odered his teammates.

And so they did.
What will they find deep within the mountains?
What is the dark secret of the Argon base?
Are there really flamethrowers hidden somewhere?
Find out next week on ...

Well, sorry that this post is so long, but i was just in the mood ^^
The actual thread is here because i wanted to ask you about the style of my new mapping project Argon.
A small mountain supply base, wich has a secret underground level with horrors still to be unveiled.
So style: yes or no?

    Verah, verah nice. The green is pretty distinguished in the fifth shot, but it's not too overpowering. Please, do continue.

    Prometheus is basically done, its balanced and i don´t have much res left to do anything.
    I´m just waiting for Tycho working on the skybox and maybe for someone who ould make me some nice textures for those screens. Thats the only things from the final release.

    Thats why i began working on Argon, just can´t keep my mapperfingers still ^^

    Beware the super high poly!

    WEWT! My nex x800xt (getting it within the month if I'm lucky!) should love you for this!

    Dosen't look <i>that</i> high poly, but yes I like it. You seem to have maximized what the engine can do without overloading it, good job.

    Nice little story too <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    It's so clean and tranquil, while at the same time looks increadibly disturbing, like something just isn't right... like maby some doglike animals will hop off the ceiling and rip you to shreads at any moment...

    The horror... the horror!!

    Maybe make a horrid blood curdling scream in the background in some part. Or make it so silent... then.... a steam vent goes off! One map had that in it (I forgot which) that scared the crap out of me. Multiple times.
