Very Slow E3 This Year

<div class="IPBDescription">maybe its just me?</div>Is it just me, or has this year's E3 been kinda.... bleh?
No shocking new game announcements...
No games to salivate over...
No unexpected news or other suprises...
Hell even the booth babes this year are sub par.

I think perhaps the unveiling of all three next gen systems before E3 even started has something to do with this, but still it can't be just that.

I see plenty of games to look forward to, and three wholesome consoles, but yes, it has been a bit subdued. Still, one day left. All hell <i>could</i> break loose.

I'd tend to disagree. Whilst no, there's not been many outright surprises, but some of the material on show is definately of a high quality, especially the PS3 footage. Whilst the likes of Killzone 2 are said to be pre-rendered (but possible), the likes of the UT2K7 footage on the PS3 has excited me no end.

So many games have been visually astounding, be it Gears of War, UT2K7, Killzone 2, Heavenly Sword or Condemned, and the next generation of consoles has most definately filled me with excitement.

I guess there's no big "surprises" as such, as we all saw the featured games coming and we all know of the next wave of console's arrival, but damn, the future looks pretty good as far as gaming goes, and E3, so far, has most definately not been a disappointment.

idk, the footage of all 3 next-gen consoles certainly entertained me.

then again, i'm not actually at e3, just watching the coverage of it. >_>

Despite being alcohol induced, couldn't say it better myself.

I have higher hope for this year than I did last, being that the PS3 is coming(and will break the 360, imho).

3 new consoles have been announced. I don't think there's any news in video gaming that can be bigger than that.

I'll believe that NS has hit the big time when Flayra speaks at an E3 keynote. Don't you have some sort of PR function Zunni? Make that happen.

I think it's huge. Sure, there's no one thing standing out, but that doesn't mean there's not an incredible amount of stuff to be really excited about.

    Quake 4
    Quake Wars
    X-Men Legends II

    (getting the bias out of the way first <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

Then we have (in no particular order):

    Xbox360
    Revolution
    PS3
    Gears of War
    Ghost Recon 3
    King Kong
    New Brothers in Arms
    Destroy All Humans
    Prey
That Insomniac shooter that looked really cool
    Call of Duty 2
    Serious Sam 2
    Shadow of the Colossus
    F.E.A.R.
    Hellgate London
    Dawn of War: Winter Assault
    Alan Wake
    LOTR Online
    AOE 3
    Spore
    UT2K7
    Zelda

and plenty more that I'm itching for, but don't feel like listing. These are just the ones that I'm immediately interested in - it's a safe bet I'll end up owning -all- of these. There's just so much stuff that people are doing right all across the board. Very exciting time. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Psh, you got more ut 2007 to look at, quake wars, all the new consoles, another year of prey to look at (lol its never going to be released XD, its going on what? 10th year in development?), and I'm sure theres alot of unannounced things still. Quake wars looks flipping awesome though, I'm dying to play it.

*edit* oh how the hell did I forget quake 4, quake its the best game ever (next to doom ;p) <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And all of those were revealed before E3, which is what I'm talkin about. The days before E3 were more exciting than the actual event has been so far.

I think I'm going to have to get an X-Box 360 now (Dead or Alive 4, Dead Rising, and a bunch of X-Box games I wanted like Panzer Dragoon Orta and Ninja Gaiden...)

Quake Wars is also very awesome looking.

Revolution's going to kick everything and everybody square in the balls.

    Quake 4's coming out.

Gears of War looks orgasmic. First FPS I've seen in a while with totally badass looking enemies. Sure, Painkiller had some cool ones, but damn...

And there's that redone FFVII intro. Sad that there won't be a remake of FFVII with those graphics, but it's still an awesome demo. Besides, if they did remake it they'd probably have some very mismatched voice actor read from a morphed script now that it's Square-Enix and not Squaresoft.

Sonic Gems for Gamecube (Finally I can play Sonic CD...)

But, of course, the best announcement this year...

MegaMan X Collection! It's only the <i>good</i> MegaMan X games IIRC (X-X6), along with some other obscure MegaMan games.

    /me waves.

Yah, I would be proof of that.

As for ontopic, I am tossing all of the 360/PS3/N:R news in with E3, and I am thus happy <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Also, it mafe work that much more fun b/c I had G4 running the E3 footage when ever I was there (yay for DVR, boo for stupid hosts!)

The only think that im interested in is Fallout 3 and i have yet to see a scrap of media or information about it.

The Unreal 3 games <i>look</i> cool, but gameplay wise there isnt anything new (that we are aware of) that excites me.

Oooh yeah and Spore! Im looking forward to that too, although i hope it doesnt turn out to be another black and white.
