Looking For A Compiler

I have the "talent" for mapping, not compiling.

I'm currently working on my second NS map (first was a failure), co_chaoscontrol (the working title, not the real one)

So, I'm looking for someone who's previously compiled NS maps and is good at debugging because I am sure as hell not!

Screens attached.

Thanks!

    Wait, what?
You want someone to press a button/double-click a .bat for you? Or do you want them to setup the compile parameters as well? How would they do that if they have no idea how you want this map to look? And even if you provided the parameters, what's stopping you from compiling if you have everything you need?

Seriously, compiling is simple. All you do is you either write a batch file with the parameters (not recommended for the new user), or download Batch Compiler (very recommended). You can also use Hammer's inbuilt compiler, though I do not recommend it. Debugging can be harder, but 1) there are lots (LOTS) of tutorials on Google for example, 2) there are several mapping help forums (including the Mapping Help and Troubleshooting here) to help you if you couldn't find anything on that error.
You won't get far without ever learning to compile, and I'm telling you: having another person compiling a map for you is stupid because you have to contact them for every change (and send the map), then they have to send the map back to you, and if you want to tweak something you'll have to resend it to them, have them resend it to you and so on. Especially if you're in different timezones or are active at different times of the day. There's also the risk of someone stealing parts of your map or claiming it as their own.

    Questions?

be a bastard like me and use the built in hammer compiler and let it eat 600 MB of ram. jk jk..

for people that are new to compiling maps, its easier to use a batch compiler.

Using the hammer compiler is for pro only, like gigabite.

Lol. Okay okay, make me do my own debugging.

Not to mention faster, more efficiant, and it produces an overall smaller compile as well.

it may be easier, and more efficent, but sorry to say it wont create an overall smaller bsp. you use the same compile tools either way (csg bsp vis and rad) so if you input the same options, the outcome will be the same.

If you're new to compiling a map I would recommend Batch Compiler., because that way you quickly get an overall view to what compile options there are available. However, you still need to refer to the command_reference.html file (which comes with zhlt) to know exactly what each option does. Basically the program creates the needed batch file to use the compile tools and then runs it(?). That's why I think it might be more quick to use it, but I myself prefer creating the batch with notepad, because I find all the checkboxes very confusing.

or you can use Quark's Built in Compiler with Z's tools and BAM, optimized complied bsp.

Pfft to all you hammer users.

Pfft all you gui slaves. You could all use the notepad to create your maps. Who needs a 3d window with 2d axis views to place objects anyways!!! And after that use the compile tools in DOS!!!
