    It respawns ALL dead marines.... does not spawn marines from infantry portals.

    I rarely see people use it, but it can be a powerful tool when your base is being raided. I was commander once, and our base was being bombarded. The only reason we were able to fight off the aliens successfully was because I used distress beacon like mad, so the aliens had to contend with swarms of marines.

    It's the way a good commander saves his team from the big skulk rush. Start, make infantry portal, make observatory, fightfightfight, bring back all troops immediately, fightfightfight. Skulks all get the idea that rushing == all Marines waiting, and leave you alone long enough to get stabilized.

    ooooooooooooooo thanx for that... judging from the description that was in the manual with all that nano tech stuff... i thought i opened a temp phase gate anywhere on the map..
