Server Appears In Online Game Instead Of Lan

<div class="IPBDescription">sigh :/</div> Hey there guys, im running a HLDS NS server, but my games only appear on ONLINE games, not on LAN games. I tried to put SV_LAN 1 in both listenserver+server.cfg but it didnt work :/

Also when im playing, even with 2 players, it lags like 300 pings, and when im alone in server its 20 :/

    have you tried disconnecting the lan from the internet and seeing if the server works?

    I havent had this problem before (with any game) but it seems like its some auto-configuration bug, so if you disconnect the internet, and start up a server, it may trick itself into working. Then all u need to do is find out what it did and do it yourself <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    still doesnt show up :/, even tried steam in off-line mode.... :'(



    Also, im using Extralevels plugin, but im getting this error :
    [AMXX] Plugin uses a unknown function <name "entity_get_string") - check your modules.ini. <plugin "extralevels2.amxx>





    All I wanted was to set up a cool LAN server :/

    When the server is running, what value does the sv_lan cvar have? I have tryed starting my server where it didnt register it so i had to type sv_lan 1 in myself manually.

    You can also try applying the cvar in your shortcut (like you do with +maxplayers)

    the serve must start in LAN mode, changing the sv_lan cvar mid game has no effect.


    sv_lan 1 must be set on startup.


    proably with -lan or something

    I tried running a normal LAN server (start NS, Create Game)...only...ONLINE people came on MY LAN !! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I had this problem myself, you have to edit your server.cfg file, as this file is loaded at start up, so even if you tell the HLDS that it is lan, the server.cfg file changes it back to online. Find where it has sv_lan 0, and just change it to 1, do that, and it should be ok, it works for me that way for lan only.

    Post your starting command line, any autoexec.cfg files and server.cfg file here. Make sure you remove your passwords before posting.
