I seem to have a problem joining lan games...

Im not using steam coz i used my friend's cd to install half-life and he's already using steam... so i play with bots and on lan...

    Earlier betas worked on regular WON HL in LAN. I'd have assumed the final would work as well.
    What's the problem exactly? Do you get a message, like something about class C clients?

    No... Whenever i try to join a lan game on a listenserver, the client will keep retrying connection with the IP address... Meanwhile, the server will totally freeze up...

    i've tried using the other comp to host a listenserver and the same problem occurred...

    My other mods for half-life work fine so i was wondering if NS 3.0 Final could only work on steam...

    Btw im using the standalone install of rcbot 1.4 Beta...

    Steam was created to replace the WON system because they believe it was outdated... just get a copy of half-life, its really not that big of an issue...

    Make sure you get a version that includes Half-Life 1. The cheaper packages don't include it.

    Yeah, that would be the Silver Package or (If your a tool with a lot of money) Gold Package.
