I was wondering how i can make my onos stomach around 50% transparent so i can see where the onos is carrying me (or am i transported to some room outside the map?)

I tried editing the sprites in PSP but i have to have the layers at 16mil colors to make them transparent as far as i know. Anybody figured out another way of doing this?

just delete the sprite...or rename it.

if consistency or download at the server isn't turned on you will see through...

how is it a hack? It's not like i can do anything else while i'm in there, i just die and respawn at base.

if the onos takes you back to a hive, you could see what is going on in that hive. when you are digested you are not supposed to see whats going on.

Any good comm should already be able to know what hives are up when an onos rolls around. There's no advantage or disadvantage to this.

you arent even inside the onos model I dont think, infact I think it just makes you a phantom (everyone can go through you and no one can see you) and if the onos dies you return to normal and are teleported to where it died.

if you have a transparent onos sprite, you can see the world around you, but you cant see the entities. so if you enjoy looking at world geometry only then go for it. but many people consider this an exploit because if you know where the onos is, you can tell your teammates where it is to go hunt it down.

I'm pretty sure when you are disgested it turns your model to a null version. You are not moved by the onos whatsoever. Then when killed, you are moved to it's spot of death.

This also goes along with what Vader6 says.

*This is only a guess, due to the fact that if you spectate a person digesting, you only are able to see him standing there, not moving while the onos runs away.*

--Any help from Devs, or anyone who knows for that matter, if this is correct?

Well, if you just stay in one place, then it will be no advantage or disadvantage.

If you get moved with the Onos, then it's clearly an advantage, or there would be no point in getting a translucent sprite.

I can see a definite advantage in tracking down an escaping Onos with celerity. Say the Onos comes in, stomps, eats, but takes a bit too long to get out. He's probably low on health. I'd want to know exactly where he's going so I can kill him.

If you just stay there then it missed the point <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

you dont just stay there.. you can still hear whats going on around the onos.. and if youre in a heavy suit you can still hear walking when the onos moves... so youre going where the onos goes.. i dunno how a clear sprite would turn out though.. itd prolly look weird.. would prolly be clipping through the onos model

<--- was digested during a playtest BEFORE the digestion sprites were made...

this is a hack and will not be tolerated; end of discussion.
