Will A Cyberbrain Make Education Irrelevant?

<div class="IPBDescription">i bring my notes to the exam in my brain</div> I was watching some Ghost in the Shell (TV series) when it suddenly came to me. If the cyberbrain technology was made a reality, won't education be obsolete. Because all you need to do is to just add in new information into your brain just like how you install software in your computer.
Although I think education will just be radically changed to adjust to cyberbrains. Because not all knowledge can be learnt by just reading the fact about it.
i.e. Programming. You can read books and books about it. But you will never get the grips of it until you actually write actual code.
Exam would be SOOO much easier with a cyberbrain though. Be like bringing a laptop into the exam room with all the facts you would need.

...However that would be cool. Though I can imagine there would also be malovent intent with this as well. False information and whatnot. *shrug*

However, if there were some kind of non-UN international body that strictly regulated it and had academics from all countries and backgrounds that vetted the information in the uploads, I might consider "installing" my data (and nothing more, no ideals or emotions).
GitS:SAC pulls up alot of the cool problems that there would be:
1) The concept of a "Ghost" (youd could call it a soul)
2) Hacking pople's minds.
3) The ability to back up your brain.
4) Switching brains/bodies
5) How do you define "alive"?
One of my favorite (for interesting factor) eps is the one about the runaway proto type tank. The end is very interesting.
Also the Tachikomas <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I honestly don't know if that's a statement regarding cyberbrains or our current education system. There could be plenty of discussion on both. :P
I think for children (probably up to, oh say, 8th grade) old fashioned education will be the norm. The good part would be that crap like math and history could be downloaded, meanwhile stuff they really do need practice at like English and communication skills and not growing up to be stupid idiots who kill other people can be focused on.
Now what would be really awesome is college class downloading. I suck at math, so I'd love to be able to just download Calculus 3,4, and Number Theory and etc courses into my brain. It'd also be handy for learning a foreign language in a snap, though this is something that would require a lot of practise too.
People shouldn't be too rushed to download everything and finish school while they are 9 years old.. after all once you're done w/ school the alternative is going to work for a living. :P
[edit]
Oh and there would be a very, very sharp increase in hate crimes as certain religious zealots from various belif systems feel threatened by this surefire sign of the end of the world and feel that the only way to save their soul is to start firebombing hospitals and universities.

Imagine all the games you could play just by thinking.
And all the pr0n
And the hacking
And the spyware
And the virus's
Oh dear D:
All I'd be willing to have implanted, ever, is a calculator, and a hard drive (it'd be nice to have a photographic memory)
Let's say you're taking a course in something that involves mathematics...
Now you'd still have to be able to work problems, the difference is that they'd all be open-book/open notes. Memory would become less important, because it's stored on a little chip that you can access any time. But it's one thing to know what the equations are, and a completely different thing to understand them.
If anything else was going to be installed I wouldn't accept it. No nano-chip is going to tell ME what to do (or think).
Yeah, I thought about this after seeing the Matrix... it would suck, video games wouldn't be fun anymore when everyone plays the same, and exceptionally.

Luddite!
The end of GitS is horrible, since no Tachikoma survived.
I loved these guys. The end is horrible, really.
I just seems that Animes can´t have proper endings!
Exactly, it's the perfect anti-cheat incentive. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

You're sort of wrong.
Aramaki was able to save the AI processor that was able to produce the personalities of the tachikomas and create a new updated batch of them.

But in all seriousness, people's minds work differently, so technology wouldn't really be stagnant...but everyone would basically be what we would consider high-school geniuses at the age of 5. However, actual literary works, historical deduction, mathematical advancement and scientific discovery would still be reliant on actual conscious thought (but it would most likely be quicker, since failures and previous experience could be known instantly).
Imagine your brain crashing every 3 minutes and you lose all memory of everything that happened since you woke up that day. :P
I know she saved that chip, and i already guessed they would make new ones for the SaC2, but nevertheless, they all developed personality in the end and for me it was like my best liked main character were dieing, regardless if they could be cloned afterwards with the chip.
Major could´ve died and i would care less, but not the Tachikomas <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Yeah they were cute little buggers weren't they. The way they were so curious.
