The small square images used as links in your art page are really annoying and kind of confusing too, at first. Either make them a bit bigger or add numbers in them so people'll know they're links. Or you could just use thumbnails of the sketches and stuff.

Theres something tha lacks fulfillment. Like the front page, it be like "alright, heres the page then, i updated it". But It should give sneak peeks to art or write about them.
The art section then, its like some section in middle of other sections. I saw that kind of idea in other - professional artist's - page. But it was made in flash and you saw sneak-peek from picture by hovering the pointer above the square. And there were 1000+1 pictures.
In gallery that small, it doesnt really work well.
And the whole web page design is made from flames and "stuff" but the art itself doesnt refelct nothing like that.
Some text more. Theres no information whatsoever from anything. Maps are pretty difficult to install and try out in game. And art itself needs some thinking, you need to little prepare people to what they see.
Typography is fine, but too small, I think. Its just that, there is nothing to fill that large space reserved for it.

100% Broadband Friendly (as thewebmachine.com says)

I don't even recall his site having any "flames" of any kind on it. The only thing I see is an orange splash of.. something. His art's got nothing to do with the design of the site as far as I know. It's just his place to show off what he made.

And maps are hard to install? olorofl

It looks strange in IE because he's used absolute positioning for the <div>s. It's a rather strange way of doing it especially when using a table as well. You either use absolute positioning or a table, not both.

I've changed it so it uses nested tables for positioning rather than absolute values and it now looks the same in IE and Mozilla.

Edit: I apologise for the pedantry but this will get your site out to a wider audience. Oh and the background is very nice btw <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

That's what I told him, but he wouldn't listen (I coded the original thing, then he messed it up <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

Anyway, part of the reason why it looks **** in IE is because IE can't handle PNGs with transparency.

Either way, nice job spacer and thanks for designing my site <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

edit: two anyways in the same post? Impossible!

Want a pretty old school way of tackling transparent blocks of colours? The good old fashioned, half transparent checker texture.

Make an image 2px x 2px in size, and make the top left and bottom right pixels your solid colour, the other two you make transparent. Save this out, set it to the background to the div and repeat-x/y and even in IE it will be partially transparent.

This is, however, not the best looking way to do it, certainly far worse looking than png alpha levels, but it is a transparency solution that works on any browser with gif transparency support.

Christ, i wish IE would catch up and use png transparency, it would make my work a little easier.

I'd suggest using CSS to completely control the layout rather than relying on tables. CSS > tables.

Also, WHERE IS MY LINK ON YOUR WEBSITE PLEASE SPACER??!!? <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->

ugh them little boxes to link your art pics are annoying, let alone ppl wont view them because it looks like just a fancy button to replace the black space.. id suggest thumbnails of the pics or even writing the name of each pic etc..
