Would that be suggesting that a Linux-powered LMG wouldn't run out of ammo?

Bad Linux! Windows FTW (less kickings) *pre-empts the flames and runs from the room*

ya lets not turn this into a "linux is better than windows" or "how dare you! windows is better than linux!!!" or "i'm going to hurt you all because cupcakes are better than donuts damnit!"

Next you'll tell us its powered by cyrix =/ (ofcourse that could never get out of the testing stage, as a speck of dust on the LMG would cause it to jam completely, and thats nothing compared to what would happen if the room temperature was about 30 degrees at time of firing)

I hear they tried a mac version that looked REALLY good but wasn't compatible with the comms ammo packs.

Well at least I never encountered a malfunctioned or overheated LMG with Win98 installed on it!

Did it randomly turn off, and delete the trigger too? Essensially turning the LMG into a nice looking door stop?

No, last time I heard, they decided that our 2 triggers were not good, and so they made the choice for only one!. Utter madness if you ask me!.

Either that, or the Mac LMGs are so chic, that only "yuppies", and publishing houses would use them. Or American's

If we can't turn this into a Windows vs Linux fight, can't we turn this into suggestive metaphors about how much better PC's are, over Macs...

Of course, there would always be the ever leathal irritating noise the LMG made when you readied it with a new clip.... that you just can't find the off button for.

I hear they fixed the problem with the clip transferring fake bullets to the firing chamber though? But there is still no reliable way to remove the clip from the gun, where the hell is the button to eject?!

But then again, people who wanted to use both the Win LMG, and the Mac LMG would be s*** out, becuase the two are so hopelessly different. Which is where the Mac LMG is so close to the LMG that the Penguin-Lovers ™ use. So different, hopeless to try to use 2 of them at the same time.

Are the WC sequences even the same?

*edit*
WC mean Weapon Condition. a sequence of numbers given to the sequence in which ammo is loaded, and the weapon made ready for firing. 0 being the bit just before you point, and spray...

Now remember, when upgrading your LMG 98, 98SE, or the much broken LMG Me, to the new LMG XP, remember to apply the LMG XP Service Pack 2 to it. It gives you all new features, like a little bubble to remind you to always wear you personal armour, despite LMG XP SP2 coming with something that resembles personal armour. It will also remind you that you need to keep your anti-Snonos rounds up to date, and will tell you to carry them around with you all the time, even on your R&R, when you're nowhere near the Kharaa.

Better yet, LMG XP SP2 will also keep your LMG XP up to date, will all the latest upgrades, however, we will be marking a minor visual, and sound upgrade for your built-in LMG Media Player, as 150% critical, and will tell you that you will die if this update is not applied.

However, if you wish to disable the little bubbles, they will come back in force after 30 seconds, and if you refuse to keep your LMG XP up to date, then we will not help you fix it when it breaks, at least, until you go to your local Compu-Global Hyper-Mega-Net store, and do all your upgrades...

Had to do some sniping...

Yeah honestly I don't see the Windows logo. LMG clip yes, memory stick, maybe, keyboard possibly, but I don't see any windows logo from any angle.

The MAC powered LMG was great to look at, except commanders complained when it cost 3 times the res to get ammo upgrades.

the Windows logo is streched, so its like a smear.

Also

Lmg XP recomends you download all the service packs and anti-kharra updsates before restarting your lmg. Without doing so, your lmg may become infected with para-ware, and cause annoying pop-ups and jamming of the weapon.
• DrummerDrummer Join Date: 2004-02-18 Member: 26654Members
you also forget that the Mac LMG, while looking all flashy and new, and costing triple that of a windows LMG, the Mac LMG shoots arrows instead of bullets, because they were more concerned with making the scope all pretty and smooth instead of making it compatible with the latest ammo

Lmg Mac doesn't have a cliup, as all clip is contained in the casing of gun. The same goes for the additional weapon upgrade ports.

This is what happens on slow news days. Release the rest of the BUS details, and this'll all go away. [ April 11th, 2005 ] :: NS v3.1 announced (Nemesis Zero)

We are pleased to announce that work on Natural Selection v3.1 is progressing nicely. This update will features the first public implementation of Unknown Worlds Entertainment's 'Nexus' System, about which we will release more information over the next weeks. NS v3.1 will also see a number of improvements, such as a Windows RG Edition LMG, aimed to make NS more intuitive as well as a number of optimizations.

We have also begun to research the efforts and challenges involved in a port of Natural Selection to VALVe's Source engine (Half-life II). So far our results have been mixed but with some positive surprises in terms of the artwork. We hope to begin asset creation relatively soon. There will however be no decisions on the code and the initial scope of the Source port until after v3.1 is released.
