anyone looking for a job?
Ok, it's official: I suck. My lemon of a motherboard thanks to some asshelmets at a site i'd rather not advertise) finally died, or more precisely, wont stay online for more than 3 minutes. i just spent a fricken grand building this thing abd it's dead. It's obvious that i couldnt pour water out of a boot with instructuions on the heel, is there anyone who lives somewhat close to Philadephia (Audobon Accually) who's any good at computer repair? I've been forced to blow off my plans on getting a car to fix this damned thing and im almost out of money. but completely out of time.

    You could try buying a replacement part which would be far easier than atempting you repair.

    buy.

    How about giving us some details a(or atleast those in the area) so we know just howmuch comp skills are needed.

    if you literaly burned something, via act of god (lightning/tornado/monsoon etc) or act of stupidity (atempting to pour water out of a boot... into your computer). There isn't much any of us can do (aside from pointing you at a good mobo and/or helping install it).

    If you simply can't get the system to work... some one might beable to trouble shoot (either inperson or online)

    "I suck at life" is a phrase we hear too much on these boards. I don't think there's any way to not know what it means. And therein, we end up knowing what he meant.

    Apparently you guys missed the threasd before about my problems with a compoany, so i'll retell it asbbreviated of course

    last june, my 4 year old Duron of Duem decided to have heating issues, being a 4 year old PC ment it was time to upgrade. One of my firends suggested a company (wich im not going to advertise, the bastiches) that i bought my parts from, the company, a goverment supplier, sent me a damaged CPU (that works, surprisingly) a cooked motherboard (bad disk controller, odd front panel audio problems, and a "Ribbed for your pleasure vibratior-sounding" audio) and the worst customer service EVER ("We cant fix yor 100 dollar coponet untiul you fedex $1.50's worth of parts, shipping costs $5.00" sent 3 MONTHS after i ask, through email)

    Basically, i cant get the goddamned thing to work, and local repair shops cost me 65 an hour, i cant do it because of work, so im looking for someone competent

    that stuff realy isn't 'fixable'

    it sounds like flat out deffective product, and you generaly can't fix it with out replacments parts.

    So you brought sutff that was broken from some where that worked?

    might as well just buy new bits and be done with it

    Can't you tell us the company name so that we make sure to never buy from them?

    This is why you don't buy used parts from no-name companies, crabby. Newegg might be more costly in the short term, but you'll save in the long term by keeping your machine runnning for more than a month or two.

    ok, it seems im misunderstood again
    the company, compuvest.com sold me a new motherboard, a very defective motherboard. I have not the time to replace it myself, nor the fortitude to swallow my pride and buy a Dell. I'm looking for someone with time and need of some money who'd be willing to install a new motherboard, since it's obvious that i cant.

    The reason i said i cusk at life is that it's obvious that i cant finish anything i start, and i suck at computers ... have you seen what i did to my poor defensless case? It involved gasoline and some cackling from a demented headcrab.

    and RobbyC, I'm a 20 year old man with training in construction equipment repair and marketing, My PC keeps me from going insane and building a howitzer from scrap. Do you REALLY want me to go bonkers and play "Watch stuff explode" with comprerssed Oxygen bombs?

    YES!

    /me eggs Lamar on!

    actualy, you need to put VERY little money into a car to keep it running (now if you insist on having a pimpmobile, well the entire point is to show off that you can waste lots of money on a stupid car).

    Note, I live in NYC, we dun need to steekin cars!

    BTW, if that company is giving you the run around over replacing a defective part, report their arses to the BBB.

    I would realy suggest asking around amongst your friends if any of them know some one to help out, as I don't expect you to get any help from here.

  • ThansalThansal The New Scum Join Date: 2002-08-22 Member: 1215Members, Constellation
    monsoon = rain

    rain = water

    water + electronics = short circuit

    short = fire

    monsoon = fire
