Help! Server Ops/admins

a pal of mine wants to be an admin right...so i write his wonid in the cfg and enables mp_authicons 1 (for fun) but he doesnt get admin? why?
ive tried with rcon too, my rcon password is set, but what does he have to write etc to make it work?
rcon_address is set to his ip and rcon_port to 27015.. help please <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

btw my green icon went away with the 1.02 patch.. at least that's when I noticed it

they changed the cvar. to mp_authicons from ns_authicons or something. read the readme

your right and I knew that but all it does is say "auth on" I still dont get the green icon by my name.. at least not on my screen. I saw a different icon when monsierevil joined. His looked like a seashell or alien head hehe.. hard to say
think its cuz they're in the NSGuide- or Dev team..

for rcon to work do this
edit your servers server.cfg and put in the line (xxxxxxx being the password you choose of course)
rcon_password xxxxxxx
on your friends computer create an autoexec.cfg file in the NS folder
open it with notepad and add the line
rcon_password xxxxxxx
now the first time he joins your server he MIGHT have to type
exec autoexec.cfg
to load the file, but this is the ONLY time you have to do it
now he should be able to do rcon like this:
rcon kick bob
rcon status
rcon stat
rcon user
etc.. etc..
make sense ?
