Door/elevator Blocking

<div class="IPBDescription">What's your opinion?</div> Well, I just got back from one of the most annoying games ever. I joined a server, went to the alien team, and found out we had 3 hives.
"Awesome, looks like I'll get to have some fun this round." I then went to the holoroom (forget which map that is) and found some O and D turrets. There must have been at least 7 or 8 sieges attacking that one room <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> That wasn't the least of my worries though. I stayed skulk and leaped past the sieging, only to find the next room with 20 or so turrets. I figured, "Ok, not that big of a deal, I'll go in the back door as onos and get this over with." I went down there, went to the door, and found the most turrets I've ever seen in their spawn. Also, there were 4 or 5 turrets under the door, preventing it from opening. I used their phase gate and managed to weaken 1 of the turrets, then go lerk and use spikes to finish it off. 3 more left. My teammates told me earlier in the game they had blocked other doors also. This made me <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->
And so, my question is: Do you think it's ok to block doors with turrets/offense towers? It can be usefull if you're the team doing it, and REALLY annoying if you're the team it's being done to.

    well, it could be in the next patch that they'd either make turrets unable to be built in the doorways, or make doorways/lifts close on the turrets and thus destroy them that way.

    it would seem that more checks on where you can place structures are still to be put in place, as it's a little too easy to drop a TF on a poor marine as a commander, and this tactic here sounds like it may not have been an intended use of turrets. putting an offense chamber on a resource node on accident is always a bummer too.

    Its really only not fair for the aliens. Marines can set up siege on the other side and end your fun. Aliens can do nothing. Unless you make bile bomb/rockets go through walls like pyro's incendiary cannon on TFC.
