<a href='http://www.hlsw.net/' target='_blank'>http://www.hlsw.net/</a> does pretty much the same thing, but I like HLSW's ability to see who is actually on the server you're trying to join.

HLSW is the best thing I've ever used, especially with the bans for bot spam on #naturalselection. All the HLSW goodness without any of the bad.

Hey, that's actually a really nice program. I won't be using it, though, I'm happy with HLSW, but keep up the good work! Maybe one day, it'll be better than HLSW!

HLSW is free. I just use Gametiger to find a server, and if I like it, I'll put it in my server list. Or if any friends on IRC are playing on it.

Hmm, I like it. It is by far the most compact tool of this sort. Good work.

good work, all programs started out small and get better and better until they are the standard.

personally I prefer All seeing Eye which can be found <a href='http://www.udpsoft.com/eye/' target='_blank'>here</a> - which they claim to be used by 40% of gamers...

an idea of what it takes to create such a good game browser from ASE homepage - <i>"It has taken over 3 years and about 120000 lines of code to make ASE what it is today, but looks like it was worth it."</i>

    so keep at it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I've tried them all, and gotta say All Seeing eye is the best. Especially for low end systems. It uses no annoying graphic windows (saves RAM), and dosen't have ads or "reminders" or any of that annoying crap that is not needed. Also works with lots of games and mods. It's worth the registration price, was it 20 or 30 bucks? Fast too.

Gamespy is like ICQ. Used to be simple, fast, great. Now it's loaded down with so much extra stuff that just isn't needed...

Hey nice one man <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> I just used this to wait till my fave server had a slot free and then automatically join <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> That's ace!

I'm sick of constantly clicking 'Join Game' over and over in the HL Internet Games browser... this helps a bunch <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I think I'll be using this from now on...

i tried to contact the master server, get a list of all servers, and get their info, to do the gametiger thing... and suceeded.

<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> but unlike ASE, i have no servers to do the gruntwork (which is why ase costs $$), meaning the whole thing had to be done from the computer running HLQC.

this took way 2 long, and was not practical. so i had to leave it out =( woulda been neat tho.

any suggestions on how to improve my program are greatly appreciated.

Serverinfo has excellent rcon support, but I think it's a windows program; you could probably run it using WINE or something if you really wanted to ...

use xqf, supports necessary rcon background magic.

ASE is shareware, that's reason enough for me not to use it.

Oh, tell us if you ever decide to GPL your code <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
