<div class="IPBDescription">shots + preview</div>Black & White 2 has been in development for some years now, and awhile back it kinda went under the radar with no new news regarding it. Well now their website has a ton of screenshots, here are some of the best ones:

<a href='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/Army_EvilApe1.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/Army_EvilApe1_small.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a> <a href='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/Epic-lion1.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/Epic-lion1_small.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a> <a href='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/lion_norse_town2_1024.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/lion_norse_town2_thumb.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a> <a href='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/night-battle_1024.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/night-battle_thumb.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a> <a href='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/siege_cow_1024.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/siege_cow_thumb.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a> <a href='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/20050220_EvilBabyApe.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/20050220_EvilBabyApe_small.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a> <a href='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/20050303_JapaneseArmy.jpg' target='_blank'><img src='http://bw2.lionhead.com/bw2/screenshots/20050303_JapaneseArmy_small.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /></a>

There's also a <a href='http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/blackwhite2/preview_6120337.html' target='_blank'>preview</a> & <a href='http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/blackwhite2/media.html' target='_blank'>video interview</a> with the developers on Gamespot.

It certainly looks amazing, that's for sure. And according to the interviews and previews they've supposedly learned from their mistakes in B&W1 and are fixing them. Hopefully all that is true, cause this one looks like its gonna pwn. But then again so did the first one, so who knows...

Gasp! Have to keep in mind that screenshots always take the best of the best moments or I'll start drooling uncontrollably :O~

For some reason I really liked the "stupid" AI of the creature. It's much like training a dog. If he is thinking of something else when you berate him, he will think that the thing he is thinking about is what you're berating him for, not the large turd on the mat in front of him.

I'm chuckling at the thought of an avid player of games like Rome: Total War suddenly switching over to playing this.

"Hmm....my army is about as large, as skilled, and as armed as their army. I should be fine. I'll just hold up in my fort here, and when the siege weaponry comes....

    ....Is that a cow?"

Yes! Yes! Yes! I think that i am the only person who was actually really impressed with the original, and this looks to be even better. Molyneux may have not nailed the creatures with the original, but as long as they have learnt from their mistakes (and it looks like they have) this should be another great game. The only drawback is the level of detail in the game. There is no way in hell that my computer will be able to run that, so it looks like i will need to splash out on a new graphics card soonish <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I can't help but feel the same way. I'll wait for a demo.

I lost patience with the first one. I did however manage to teach my
ape to set fire to things (trees mainly) and then throw at the village store.

I'll give this try but i'm not rushing out to buy it.

I've said this before, but I'm hesitant about the new direction they're taking. Now it sounds just like your average rts, just with giant beasties. I'll miss the virtual "playground" that the first game was.

Uh I thought the whole point of Black and White was to make your creature eat its own poo.

    Or am I missing something?

i played the original B&W, goto like lvl5 where your town is being assaulted by fireballs or whatever and gave up. I do distinctly remember teaching my creature like fireball, locking him in my citidal, and kept wondering why my village kept sporaticlly bursting aflame. lol, good times.

My biggest complaint with the first game was the last level - once those Megablasts started periodically crashing down, the game became completely unplayable. My system was way over the minimum specs as well. So, needless to say, I never managed to complete that game.

Otherwise I loved it, except for the feeling that it was a giant playground rather than an actual game...but Molyneux's style in my experience tends to be along the lines of "Let's create this really amazing experience where you can do X Y and Z, and once that's in place we'll try and make a game out of it."

I'll probably by purchasing B&W2 though, because Molyneux's playgrounds rock.

They need to add a game mode were you have to hunt down scientists who try and prove you don't exist. Just don't create the Babel fish.

I'm looking forward to this game.

In B&W I had a creature that summoned grain to the grainary and watered the fish (dont ask...). I found that game much more fun on the non-scenario maps.

I was pretty sure it was about abuse, or quantity there of.

Peter Molyneux's children are gonna be some screwed up adults though.

finally something new... i've been waiting for this game for what, 3 years? there hadn't been any updates for like months until now other than a couple of new screens they released some while ago.
man im so looking foward to get this game, black and white 1 was great. i remember getting my cow getting so bruised in battle that he had bruises for the rest of the game. ah well. and you don't realize just how big your creature has grown until you create a new one from the start and go "wth since when were the creatures so puny!"

    Oh no you weren't.
In fact I think the liked/didn't like ratio was just about 50% each, but, being normal people, we tend to shut up when multiple people state an opinion opposite to ours.

I wonder if my geforce 3 will cope with this game too.

I actually liked it very much though the game didnt last long for me, too short a campaign and a bunch of very annoying tedius elements <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Hmmmm...
Time to re-discover the art of throwing villagers around. And hopefully this time an easier way to crush them with a rock. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    That's all I did.
Creature was annoying to control,so I just threw villagers and stuff at them.

No, I imagine it would be like some sort of creature made intirely out OF sex... Acctually, I would like such a creature in B&W2...

This game looks amazing, I wish I had more money to appease the increadible game designers who produce all these types of games that I desperately want.

The only thing I recall about B&W was beating my monkey black and blue out of sheer frustration for having one moment of weakness that actually caused me to buy the game in the first place...

It looks good, no debating that, but so did the original B&W at the time.

I too will be waiting for a demo before I even consider this.

    Fool me once Mr.Molyneux...
