Eax Effects Not Being Rendered In-game

<div class="IPBDescription">EAX support on Creative cards</div> Hi all, title says the most of it really. When I'm playing in-game, on any map, any server, even if EAX support in Options/Audio is ticked, it won't render the effects in-game (so it's just the standard boring wave files, no special reverb/echo effects and no special under-water effects).

I've tried enabling it via console ingame, but it always shows it's enabled.

I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, fully updated with EAX 4 enabled. The effects seem to work in HL1 SP (which sound very cool for such an old game) and on other games such as UT2003/2004.

Any ideas? I'm sure NS would sound sweet with these effects being rendered <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    eaxn dosn't realy work all that well with HL from what I understand.

    generaly it just causes problems....

    Works perfectly fine in HL1 SP. Sounds superb, especially when in the silos.

    I've had no performance or unstable issues with it, just that I can't get the effects to render on NS.

    Come to think of it, I don't notice the EAX effects in NS nearly as much as in, say, DoD.

    I don't know why that would be. Just now thought about it, though.

    I don't notice them at all as I do in Sven Co-Op <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    The 5.1 sound kicks in, just not EAX.

    The effects that EAX provides are implimented by the maps themselves, and many of the maps don't include EAX specific effects outside of the standard water distortion.
