<div class="IPBDescription">Made in 20 minutes</div> <EDIT>
Second attempt, also done in 20 or so minutes.

This one was done better and is only 384 polies.
</EDIT>
This is a quick little armory I made in about 20 minutes using Softimage|XSI Mod Tool, as you can tell from the watermark. I don't know if I'll go any farther on this.

Anyway, I want the whole thing to be flatshaded, how can I do so?
Polys: 556
Is that a good amount of polys?

good work
If you want to get better at modelling, just keep at it. Look at other peoples models and see how they differ from yours. Try to emulate their style, and eventually, you'll find a style of your own. Just keep creating models, and always try to make each model something that you're proud of, something better than your last model, and something you want to use in-game.
As far as the second armory goes, it's a good basic shape, but it's just the basic shape of the default armory. It needs flair. It needs a niche. In the case of this armory, being lower poly than the default isn't quite good enough. There's already a low poly armory out that ranks at 156 polys, and there isn't much demand for having an armory that's only 100 polys less than the default, since the armory is usually only seen once per map. So give your armory some character. Make it your own. Replace the screens with ammo racks, or put a flag on the top to indicate an advanced armory. Make your armory asymmetrical, or put spikes on it so it looks like it's impaling the marines. Just know why you're making the model, and why other people would want to see it.
[EDIT] In answer to your question - It's not a bad model, it's just not good. It seems like a lot of people around here can't really make that distinction well.[/EDIT]
