Very good and basic.
I personally dont like the not transparent walls.
make walls transparent or erase volume completely.

are the black location names meant to be unreadable?

    Not black, "dark blue".
Hive points and marine starting points are white & blight blue.

and I can make walls transparent but It's very annoying!

It would be cool if the outlines were opaque and the blue transparent!

if you have time, a transparent minimap pack without names of locations would be even nicer. Atleast I prefer without location names.

Edit: Is it ok if I add this to my newly started site www.customns.net?

Just the hive names are ok. It's the names for every room that makes it too cluttered. Most new players just need the hive names. I dunno how many times players have been stuck trying to talk about "uh, the hive that's like, sort of on the upper left side, I THINK it's named Mother, I'm not sure."

    Hi, Ensia

Great work you have there. At first I had been using the none-transparant minimaps with location names for a long time, but recently I gave yours a shot and I must admit I prefer the latter.

Just a little question; I've read that for 3.0 they will have 'coloured' minimaps (without location names to my knowledge), I'll have to see about what they mean when it comes out. And the question is: will you be making new (transparant) minimaps with location names?

If so, I would say GREAT!

    Greetz,
    XtOf

(perhaps you can work together with a8085, who we have to admit has done a great job too (and came up with the minimap with names first?), and bring out together a transparant and a none transparent version)?

I have a rather 'weird' memory, let's just say that I can remember events rather really good but don't ask me about names. That keeps bugging some people -those I rarely see- as it happens that in some cases I constantly ask their names over and over again^^.

Anyway, it would be great if someone did it. First we have to see how the new 'coloured' minimaps in ns 3.0 look like, and see if we easily can make them transparant with location names. (I don't have the programs do do that kind of edditing.)

    Hi everyone,

Can someone confirm that he is working on an update version of the minimaps, of the updated and new maps? That would be awesome.

Which minimaps haven't changed from B5 to 3.0 Final?
  • Black_ViperBlack_Viper Join Date: 2003-12-08 Member: 24157Members
None really, i think only one or two have NO changes, the rest have minimal to UBER EXTREM!!! (Daimos)
  • XtofXtof Join Date: 2003-04-15 Member: 15514Members
    Hi,

Most of the maps have changed (Metal for instance has changed a tiny little bit, but still).

Blck !pr, can you please expain me why you mention -as an example of UBER EXTREM changes- a co_(daimos) map when we are talking about minimaps?

QUOTE (Blck !pr @ Mar 8 2005, 03:17 AM)

None really, i think only one or two have NO changes, the rest have minimal to UBER EXTREM!!! I was just wondering, perhaps it's just me.

Theclam, just wait for someone to post a new minimap package with location names. I'm sure someone will be/is working on it, and it won't take to long before it will be released {keeps fingers crossed}.

Hey, I'm the creator of that one. It's a good link, just the site has been occasionally down this last week for no apparent reason. Please keep trying.

I hope he updates these maps, because the alternative transparent minimaps for this version use some strange chopping technique to make them transparent. These minimaps actually just changed the opacity.... (I might be sounding like an arse right now. I have little to no experience in this stuff.)
