Sorry all just my opinion the new cloaking blows I thought it was supposed to be 100% cloaking?

the 3 secs to recloak stinks too but ok.Also another thing which I am or was fearing the most is that i feel that this is gonna encourage more scanning which I sorely hate and disgust sorry lol. but the permacloak is kinda cool but not cool enough that I thought it was going to be one dominating force for the aliens.

So why scan encourage more scanning when ya can allready see without it? lol

(I have and will always be looking for some overpowering thing that would help the aliens unfair or not to beat or atleast try to beat the marine team.)

Or maybe this suggestion might help have somekind of item for aliens that alerts them that a marine has scan,BUT NOT for marines that aliens have cloak.

I was hoping that cloak my very favorite and sneaky upgrade would be trully a godsent or whatever but I was wrong lol,but it I think will help against newbies.

do you realise what happens when something is overpowered? yes, exactly. its too powerful. cloaking is too powerful already, heck, it was powerful enough in b5. and you still want it to be STRONGER? do we play the same game?

I agree, cloaking was fine in b5, but you had to have a team that knew hwo to use it well, and capitalize on the utter disbelief of the other team :

"sc FIRST? what the ... ?"

The dev team basically dumbed down the chamber so that pubs would use it.

    GEE GEE CS-ifying NS

I'm not pathetic lol I play the same game.I was talking about the cloak in combat maps.

yes when something is overpowered it's overpowered, but in a way that it will favor one team over the other and the other team have to use teamwork etc.

I've played NS v 3.0 Combat for 3 days now but haven't played the regular ns yet.
the 3 days I was playing comabt with the new cloak which I was so much looking forward to playing with has been at somewhat of a downer.Marines can see you in co when yer cloaked,I thought it was supposed to be 100%

Also I read somewhere on these forums where scan and mt were useless or basically useless lol ,I don't mind mt that much but scan UGHH lol.

Alltogether what I am trying to is that I'm helping/trying to help my team win mostly aliens cause all I really ever play and with whatever upgrade or not to succeed in the final win.

I Do know how to use some upgrades effectively especially cloak to be sneaky, covert killing machine.

Cloaking has never been 100% and it never will be. If you walk along ceilings or use cloaking to ambush marines, they will rarely notice you. Even when a marine is expecting a cloaker, they usually focus on the floor because that's where most cloakers expecting a free kill walk.

Cloaking was a good upgrade in B5 but it was not enough to make SC a good chamber. It had to be buffed for the good of the SC first strat. Personally I think running while cloaked is virtually useless for attack, but it's extremely useful to be able to re-cloak while you run away and then start walking to disappear again. It's not at all "CS-ified," whatever that means.

I've never agreed with cloaking too much. I've played on two pc's both with different graphics cards. 1, a low performance card, 2nd a 256MB ATi x600. On the x600 cloaking is considerably harder to notice. AA / AF it up tbh, and cloaking becomes useless. The game needs to be more about skill, and not who can tweak there card the most.

Oh noes, not scan! A marine's one point upgrade negates your own one point upgrade, how unfair.

Considering the nature of the HL engine there can will always be tweaks to hurt the effects of upgrades such as cloak.

I find the new cloaking to be MUCH more powerful than the old cloaking. You can now run at a full clip and still be moderately cloaked.

A moving marine will not see you in most cases.

The testament to how well it works is the increase in scanning in both NS and Combat modes.

I find that it's increased teamplay and communication between the marines as well.

We are aware of the technical issues of the HL engine. Bluntly put, there's a point where you can go into paralysis over the exploitability of certain engine aspects outside your control, or buckle up and plough through. Both will have negative results, but I think most will agree on which is the worse of the two evils.

And on a more personal note, folks, start using proper English. This language includes amazing features such as punctuation, relatively conciese grammatical structures, and sensible capitalization. If you want to convince me and the rest of the team of the validity of your points, it's a good idea to keep them legible.

Cloaking is just ridiculous now. Would you like skulks to be able to bunnyhop while being 100% invisible as well?

On my monitor I can't see stationary aliens AT ALL. Even with gamma up all the way AND lightgamma 0 I can see no alien.

However, when I am a stationary hiding gorge I immediately get shot at by certain marines that have all their visuals tweaked.

Is the idea of personal scan viable for NS? If so, please allow stationary aliens the courtesy of complete invisibility.

Personal scan could be implemented via upgrade option on observatory. It would be cheap. Marines' personal scan units would reveal only to THE MARINE THAT SCANNED cloaked aliens within a small radius of scanned location. The scans could be used once upon spawning (after research has been completed....like hand grenade).

I just don't think it's fair that some people can see cloaked stationary aliens while others cannot.

elito, it's good of you to search threads of your topic, but what you are doing here is revive it with a suggestion. For which there is a seperate forum.
