Sigh, when did we forget we must be responsible for ourselves.

Oh this is great... now we can kill all of those who votes for the bill and then we can say "oh, yea... that, ehrm... i played a videogame, and it is the games fault... " go see a psychologist and do it all over again next time some one proposes this idea...

oh, and even better, we can blame disappointing games, and make sure them and their makers dies/goes broke.

i love this already!

here's what should be in a new responsibility/accountability bill:

1. come up with a government rating for video games
2. make it illegal to sell mature rated games to minors, must show ID at time of purchase, like R rated movies.
3. make it illegal for minors to have access/possession to said games
4. make parents accountable for their children's actions.

slip in a clause giving a huge salary raise to the president, congressional, senate, and supreme court members; bill passes, problem solved

edit: added those pesky supreme court judgies

Come on this is silly. I played Doom when I was 10 and I have not killed any1 for now. I actually love playing violent 3d shooters but when I see pictures of real people killed I feel very shocked so this silly "violent games make people insensitive ****" does not count actually

Suddenly I'm glad to live in the UK.

The "home" of the violent PC games. (Yeah we came up with GTA and IIRC correctly Manhunt)

But! We have the BBFC!

And yeh some complex story where this kid killed his friend with a sledge hammer and he blamed the game, that he hadnt played but was property of his father or something.

The tabloids kicked up a fuss about Manhunt. A fourteen year old was killed, and the game was involved. The victim's father came out and denounced the game as a "manual for murder".

It was dropped, though, when a certain detail came to light: it was the victim who had the game. Suddenly, it wasn't newsworthy.

It won't hold up in court, violent video games don't make people violent, people that aren't in touch with reality or people that have mental health issues are violent, perhaps video games amplifies that, but video games, the violent ones, are not directly responsible, total garbage.

no i don't. what they're proposing is like making it legal to sell alcoholic beverageds to kids, and then blaming the distillers for kids getting into drinking driving incidents. it's just backwards and retarded.
