<div class="IPBDescription">go easy on me PLEASE?</div> ok well i was bored so i fired up MS and took the SG V_ model to see what i could do to it, seeing after only a few minutes that i wasnt going to be able to make a high poly SG i decided to make a LOW poly SG. so here it is.

<a href='http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-11/887791/LowpolySG.JPG' target='_blank'>http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-11/887791/LowpolySG.JPG</a>

on top is the normal SG on bottom is my SG. normal SG without hands is 914 polygons
my SG is 498 so thats about 400 polygons less. i just used the defualt skin as i cant skin a black cube, so just tell me what you think.

    I agree, all we need now is a high poly version. ^^

    As for the low poly model, its pretty good.

    it's good... begins to get wierd nearer to the muzzle though. but what really matters is... how does it look when it is a v_ model

    It's not too shabby <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    You really should consider attempting to compile it; it's good experience. Also, when you do that you'll realize what polys actually get seen in game, and you can delete the things that aren't seen at all, like the butt on that stock, or simplify things that aren't seen much, like the fingers on the left hand.

    If he wants to learn, show him <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Its simple enough, take an hour to learn how events and stuff work and you can make one sexy compile.

    Heres a bunch of compiling tutorials, with the tools you will need and the coding skills you will need to do it with. <a href='http://models.firearmsmod.com/?p=tut&tut=list&cat=5' target='_blank'>Click</a>

    ok here is the zip file with the MS3D file in it, since it will take me a long time to learn the compiling crap so i just want to see this in game see how it looks.

    Can't you delete back faces and stuff? That's what the guy who made the lowpoly LMG called it when anything that you couldn't see from the player viewpoint was outright removed

    <span style='font-size:7pt;line-height:100%'>P.S.: I believe "happy camper" comes from Star Control 2</span>

    He could, but a fully doen model is good for animating, that way i can go all nuts with the animation
  • TheritesTherites Join Date: 2004-09-08 Member: 31525Members
    hmm the zip file works for me.....was it the zip file or the MS3D file that was corrupted?

    here it is again lets hope it works this time.
    i think itd be cool if someone made a custom skin for it that fits better.
