the other day, i decided to boot up cs, when my computer all of a sudden stopped responding.i decided to restart it and was constantly attacked by a blue screen of death that said i had some sort of "inaccessible boot device". the thing that gets me ESPECIALLY angry that it says to run "CHKDSK /F" to check for errors, even though i cant access a command prompt. has anyone else encountered this situation?

what do i do =/

    ROFL! This happend to me over a year ago, I spent 5 months trying to fix it. Here's what I did, after much tinkering, thinking it was hardware, I reformatted but make sure that you install your motherboard drivers because the Hard disk controller some how got messed up. Without that controller my computer's HD couldn't talk to the rest of my machine.

    Well, if you have access to another computer you could hook your HD up to it and pull off anything important before it's formatted, I guess.

    the harddrive itself has issues and not the computer as a whole, so if i moved the harddrive to a different computer, i wouldnt be able to fix the problem.

    if you can, make a bart-pe disk and boot your computer up on it. then run its check disk on your main drive, it's saved me a couple times now. After using it I have no data loss.

    There's nothing like a Knoppix boot disc... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
