    We wouldn't want this to turn into Doom now do we?

    I think its pretty funny when people complain about blood and gore, yet theyre playing a game which includes constant violence and theyre playing on an engine which was based very gore like (half life) I dont understand how people get offended or sickened by computerized, graphic blood. I can definetly understand if you saw blood and gore in real life but seriously. Im sure all of you blood haters have watched plenty of gore absed moves out there.

    But all in all I think NS is fine at the moment, sure id love to see some 3rd party maps which base around atmosphere and gore and blood but atm there isn't any which is unfortunate. But I still have no complaint. If i was so hardcore on it i'd go play AvP. Also the fact that NS has gone "competative play" there is no big need for atmosphere / gore anymore <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> .

You can see it as an extension of the rules, where the "rule" is air control, and bunnyhopping is a derivate you can learn by studying the techniques of better players. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    The number of tutorials for how to bhop, as well as the number of people asking on the forums, "What is this, and how do I do it" suggests to me that you're incorrect. To me, it suggests that most people actually aren't able to work it out by playing.

    Personally, I tend to think if you need to go out of the game environment to learn how to do something that is <i>required</i> for a high skill level of play, then that's a design flaw in the interface of the game.

    If, for a competitive level of play, you have to go outside the game to get custom crosshairs, why aren't those crosshairs included? I just don't see how anybody can equate searching the web to skill at playing, yet some people are saying that in order to really play competitively, you have to go out and start searching the web for custom crosshairs.. assuming you know that they exist and that it makes a difference.

    Meh, it's just my opinion, and I'm not attacking wiggle-walking or the others in any way but being a poor interface design. Were it adequately described in the manual, or demonstrated in some sort of in-game tutorial, my concerns about it would be gone. That said, I'd much rather sacrifice it entirely for other more intuitive forms of movement. Ones that don't require days of play to notice that they even exist.

    And to the wit who said playing videogames themselves aren't intuitive, go play your semantic games somewhere else. You're perfectly aware of what I mean and what the definition of reasonable is. And if you're not, save us both the trouble and don't bother responding to anything else I post, I'm not willing to spend that much time teaching you the basics of meaning.

    Bhop isn't required at all. Turning off mouse accel and using a low sensitivity (both out of game 'knowledge', sort of) will help you a lot more than learning how to bhop.

    Of course bhop is useful, but you can still be a good (and competetive) skulk w/o bhop...

    Well, I think a game with the quality gameplay of NS and the quality atmosphere of Doom 3 (despite the dark, yes we all know it's dark) would be the proverbial shiznit.

    It should be a toggleable option which is off to begin with. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> People with the weak stomachs dont have to play with it on. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Please put this in! It's a detail that I would love to have <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    Make it default to off, but put it in <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
