Somnogaming

uh
Alright so last night I was rounding people up for a scrim. The last person I got was this guy, our permagorge. "Let me get some clothes on," he said, "then I can play." When he got on ventrilo, he was babbling about how he'd been asleep in his car and his voice was noticeably slurred. All of his responses were slow in coming and not necessarily coherent, but he got things done well enough. With exceptions like shooting clip after clip of ammo at non-existent skulks. I'm not exagerating, he spent a couple minutes in double shooting at a skulk that wasn't there. We had motion, and I knew (from the chair) where every single alien was. None were anywhere near him, he was the node guy. Later on, he also informed the other team - co2 I believe - that he was naked with an erection. He also opined that he was hot.

Tonight, he announced he wasready to scrim, and then asked what our plan for veil was.

"ML," I said, "you played three scrims with us last night. How can you not know what the plan is?"

"No I didn't," says he. "I passed out right after work."

There was a great deal of explaining, laughing, and "..."ing after that. As near as we can figure it, he was actually sleep-gaming. Complete with being on ventrilo and chatting, but probably slipping in and out of dreams - thus explaining the vivid hallucinations of skulks. Vivid enough to blow 250 rounds on.

First case I'm aware of, anyways.

    He perma-gorged while SLEEPING?!

This either says something about the ease of perma-gorging...or the ridiculous amount of time that he has spent playing NS.

No, he is a perma-gorge for a team. But yesterday he was playing a scrimmage in which he was a regular marine.

Your story is the epitome of BS. He wanted to be funny, and you guys laughed. What's even more funny is people who believe his lame reason.

Haahha i was there. That was really wierd. I remember the erection comment because I told him he should take care of that before we scrimmed, lest he poke something out.

every now and then my dreams that I do remember are sometimes oddly related to natural selection in someway. Common, admit it. You too have had a dream about NS !

From a sleep point of view it IS possible, yet uncommon and I doubt its good if you are that active when sleeping.

    But yes, tis possible.

    This is possible!

Why do u think some ppl who fall asleep at the wheel of a car actually arrive fine at their destination!

It has been known for these things to happen and they are not as uncommon as u think no matter how daft it sounds!

I mean obviously it wasn't like stage 4 or REM sleep, and I'm not sure how to characterize whatever state it was. But he was definitely not entirely aware, and he definitely didn't remember any of it the next day. Sort of like blacking out from drinking, only with less booze and more... NS.

I second the motion to blame drugs. It's pretty obvious. That sounds like me after a few rounds.

his consousness probrably shut off. and his subconsous mind took over. You do a certain activity long enough consously, your subconsous can easly take over. A.K.A. Autopilot.

People have done crazier things while blacked out. Probably just booze.

I wouldn't have started a thread titled "Somnogaming" if he hadn't vehemently denied drinking or anything else. If he was riding on something besides sleep deprivation, it was slipped him without his knowledge, at work.
