Hi

I'm searching for a FREE server or for someone who can sponsor me for starting a NS community, like NSArmslab or TSAO . I know how to set-up a server, put plug-ins, do a website, a forum and all that crap.     i run a 32 person server with amxmodx, rcbot, hlguard, and i cant get awards to work right but its there.

    I have the bots since it ain that popular. It runs pretty nice it also has like admin icons and reserved slot icons like in NSA. 24/7 for the most part taking into fact of outages and internet down time. Also it is ran off my home computer so sometimes im yelled @ to turn my computer off. putting it into perspective it is a 24/6.8 server. 32 ppl .

    Why not join a community for awhile before branching off to your own community? Maybe that community will be willing to sponser a second server or something that is taken care of by you. Also, you could try to raise your own support of a server by collecting funds from players to put towards a dedicated server rental (from a well-known, reliable hosting company). I don't suggest running any so called "dedicated" servers off of home connections, you just won't get the player base you want if the server is not up 24/7 with excellent connection status.

    I don't think the way you are going about it is the right approach, you must meet people and get to know them before anyone will be willing to invest anything into your cause. Find a community/server you like, and talk to the admins, try to involve yourself in the day to day operations of that server, and then go from there. Don't be too quick to suggest helping out, most server admins will not take this well. Rather, get to know the admins personally, and if they like you, naturally you will work your way in somewhere.

    Just find a home for now until you can sort out the details of your own personal community. There are many friendly people out there willing to help, go meet them!

    How do you get 32 players off of a residential connection? Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't know of any *residential* providers in the world that would be able to handle this kind of bandwidth consistently...

    alright I dont know everything exactly but just put this into perspective. On my old computer which was a winME 128 MB of RAM was able to run about 14 ppl no lag or not bad lag, and up to 20 ppl, then it starts to spike a little. Also then my CPU gets hammered. My new computer brand new. winXP, 1gig of RAM. In comparsin I can run atleast a 100 person server without taking into consideration the internet. I have high speed cox aint anything specail but with a very fast computer, I am able to host about a 10-20 person server on css. So source is about 3 X better then the hl1 engine. So i figure i can handle 32 ppl. So far the most my server for ns has ever handled was about 14 with no lag. It runs fine and no one has ever complained about lag in it EVER. THe lag issue only applies to NS. source is to damn demanding for what i wana run.

    So you don't run a 32 player server then...you run a 14 player server...

    I'm sure your computer can probably run a 32 person if it is a fast machine...but bandwidth!? I don't think so. It will melt your ethernet cable!

    Same... I was talking of a enough big comunity and i looked at your server and it was lagging and there was 7 bots on 10 person... If you can try, put your server to 32 for a day and look if its lagging when hes full...

    Ill see but dont put bots...
