<a href='http://www.foobar2000.org/' target='_blank'>Foobar2000</a> - Best music player i've ever used. Ever.
<a href='http://www.sygate.com/free/spf_download.htm' target='_blank'>Sygate Personal Firewall</a> - Free firewall. Best one i've ever used.
<a href='http://www.mgshareware.com/frmmain.shtml' target='_blank'>FreeRip</a> - Program to rip CD's to MP3/OGG. In one word : Awesome.
I had problems with 7zip taking a LONG TIME (10 mins) to open archives more than 30 mb large. Otherwise I liked 7zip too.
<a href='http://gaim.sourceforge.net/' target='_blank'>Gaim</a> Its an IM client that can do all the main IM services (Y!, MSN, AIM, ICQ, IRC). I use this one in linux, but there is a Windows version
<a href='http://www.openoffice.org' target='_blank'>Open Office</a> Think MSOffice, for free.
-------
Now here are some others that I use.
<a href='http://winscp.sourceforge.net/eng/index.php' target='_blank'>WinSCP - Freeware SFTP amd SCP Client</a> I really like this.
<a href='http://www.trillian.cc' target='_blank'>Trillian</a> Another IM client that does the same as Gaim. I use this mainly in Windows.
<a href='http://www.realvnc.com/' target='_blank'>RealVNC</a> Remote Access Viewer and Server program.
<a href='http://www.videolan.org/vlc/' target='_blank'>VideoLAN Client</a> A Movie player that is, in my opinion, the best out there. Can play any movie file out there. And if it can't, they are going to add it in the next version. Coolest option is wallpaper mode, where you can play the movies as your wallpaper. When my computer is idle, I run my movie playlist like that, just because.
Putty!!!! for all your remote "admining" needs
Can also view just about any picture format ever, including .wad's. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
<a href='http://qeradiant.com/' target='_blank'>GtkRadiant</a> - For most of your mapping needs!
<a href='http://www.shawneelink.net/~bgmiller/' target='_blank'>A43 File Managment Utility</a> - Windows Explorer++
<a href='http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/' target='_blank'>Firefox</a> - If you don't already have this, or another non IE browser, you need to be shot.
I could probly think of more, but I don't feel like it.
<a href='http://users.otenet.gr/~jtcliper/tgf/' target='_blank'>The Godfather</a> - Very powerful music tagger/renamer
<a href='http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707' target='_blank'>UXTheme Multi-Patcher</a> - Visual Styles for windows. Free and beautiful.
<a href='http://www.dbpoweramp.com/' target='_blank'>dBpowerAMP</a> - Convert music from any format to any format. Bunch of other nifty stuff too!
<a href='http://www.samurize.com/modules/news/' target='_blank'>Samurize</a> - Display anything you would ever need on your desktop.
<a href='http://www.avedesk.com/' target='_blank'>AveDesk</a> - Very cool widget program for windows
just tryed it, it's better than Explorer, but not as good as Black Box <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Because you have crappy taste? Explorer with Luna or most other themes looks like crap.
BTW...
<a href='http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm' target='_blank'>Notepad++</a> - Great text editor w/ syntax highlighting for a lot of programming languages.
Very good for managing your browser component, startup, and other computer stuff. It produces a startup log (logs everything started up at startup) so you can show the log to computer nerds and they'll tell you whats good and whats bad so you can delete it.
Switch to firefox!
Various stuff

A much smaller pdf viewer. I haven't had a chance to use it much yet, but it doesn't cause Firefox to freeze up whenever I close a pdf file viewed in Firefox, so I'm happy.
anyway... gmail notifier!
quoted because it's what I use. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
An OS that supports multi-tasking, TCP/IP, window system and GUI, and features a web server, IRC client, telnet client and web browser. It uses less than 64k and runs on the commodore 64 as well as a number of tiny systems such as the NES 8-bit.
How f-ing cool is that? I mean it's not usefull or anything but just the thought of browsing the web with a C64...
I may be doing something similar in the next few months, as I got to throw a load of stuff away which I really don't want to. It's not as good or as much as Doomy's stuff, although some people may appreciate it.
that'll change it quite a bit <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
just go to start Run (the last time you ever will!) and run the extracted "blackbox.exe -install" and reboot, no more ugly explorer!

Now I just stick with the modded uxtheme.dll.
