Tugzip looks more powerful, but 7zip is less bloated.

I had problems with 7zip taking a LONG TIME (10 mins) to open archives more than 30 mb large. Otherwise I liked 7zip too.

Here are 2 that were already listed, but I like them, so I was nice to post the links.

Gaim Its an IM client that can do all the main IM services (Y!, MSN, AIM, ICQ, IRC). I use this one in linux, but there is a Windows version

Open Office Think MSOffice, for free.

-------

Now here are some others that I use.

WinSCP - Freeware SFTP amd SCP Client I really like this.

Trillian Another IM client that does the same as Gaim. I use this mainly in Windows.

RealVNC Remote Access Viewer and Server program.

VideoLAN Client A Movie player that is, in my opinion, the best out there. Can play any movie file out there. And if it can't, they are going to add it in the next version. Coolest option is wallpaper mode, where you can play the movies as your wallpaper. When my computer is idle, I run my movie playlist like that, just because.

Very good for managing your browser component, startup, and other computer stuff. It produces a startup log (logs everything started up at startup) so you can show the log to computer nerds and they'll tell you whats good and whats bad so you can delete it.

Switch to firefox!

A much smaller pdf viewer. I haven't had a chance to use it much yet, but it doesn't cause Firefox to freeze up whenever I close a pdf file viewed in Firefox, so I'm happy.

contiki OS

An OS that supports multi-tasking, TCP/IP, window system and GUI, and features a web server, IRC client, telnet client and web browser. It uses less than 64k and runs on the commodore 64 as well as a number of tiny systems such as the NES 8-bit.

How f-ing cool is that? I mean it's not usefull or anything but just the thought of browsing the web with a C64...

I may be doing something similar in the next few months, as I got to throw a load of stuff away which I really don't want to. It's not as good or as much as Doomy's stuff, although some people may appreciate it.

Yeah back when I had Win2k, I used BlackBox and really loved it.
Now I just stick with the modded uxtheme.dll.
