<div class="IPBDescription">old school Half-Life dont show</div> Hi, sorry for this over-asked question. But I still can not get it to work.

I have read all the guide on how to install NS right, but when i install Half-Life it does not show up in Steam. I installed Steam first from HL2 then I install HL afterward and there is no Half-Life under the Steam menu.

I install HL under .../steam/steamapps/myemail/half-life
Then install NS under .../steam/steamapps/myemail/half-life /ns

Does Steam detect HL when it is installed? Or there is other way of installing the old-school HL? <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::onos::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tiny.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    You did it wrong. After you install HL2 and Steam, you shouldn't install HL1. Go to the Play Games menu, click on Browse Games, then click on Register a Product that I already own. Then input your HL1 cdkey. Steam should begin downloading and installing it for you.

    When HL1 is done installing from Steam, start up a game in HL1, go to the training map, let it load, then exit. Then, install NS to steam/steamapps/email/half-life. Make sure you aren't installing it to steam/steamapps/email/half-life/ns, because then it will make a 2nd ns folder inside your first ns folder, and you don't want that. If you point it to steam/steamapps/email/half-life, it will automatically place an ns folder for you.

    You can download original Half-Life FREE? from their server? I thought they milk everything.

    So correct me if i'm wrong... cause what is the point of collector's edition and platium, gold, silver, bronze. etc etc? Just don't get those bundles

    Ummm... you mixed things... You still need to have acess to HL1 game... Other than buying HL1 online; you can get it, either by entering your old CD-KEY (If its still available) or as a promotion when you buy HL2 silver or gold packages...

    It is NOT free at all...
