    First of all you need a turret factory somewhere on the field.
    Then the comm can electrify turret factorys and rts.
    If you are in the chair, selected a tf or rt and you'll see the electrify upgrade icon.

    Generally electrification is regarded as a waste, for these reasons:

    -It can be taken down by aliens with regeneration.
    -It can be taken down by a hive 2 gorge (bile bomb).
    -It can be taken down by a fade or an onos without any upgrades.
    -It costs 30 res, which could be spent on upgrades (e.g. weapons2), guns (3 shotguns, or 2 HMGs or 2 GLs), or buildings.

    elect is generally a waste of res. it is only gd for helping lockdowns but then again, u cld put an extra 3 turrets instead of electing the TF or RT at hive location. however, it is kinda fun to elect a hive to death. go try it.

    So does electrification hit aliens in a certain range then? How much damage does it do?

    Cheers fo the responses so far! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Yes the range is just enough big to put something next to /rt/tf to get zapped. I dont know about the damage but as people said fades can take them out easily. Electri-frying is mostly for skulks who often get killed when the electrf finishes and it zaps them by surprise. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Elect is fairly useful against hive one aliens who have either movement or sensory abilities, but higher life forms and defensive aliens have no trouble with them. Like everything else in NS, the usefulness of electricity depends on your current situation.

    Electrification isn't useless, it's great when you're the last gorge with everyone spectating, reverse into the range of the res. tower and let it shock ur butt to death. High entertainment value.

    Electrification is quite powerful against skulks. They won't be able to kill and electrified TF or RT. The only way they can is by hit and run or if there are a lot of them chomping at once. Fades can take down electrified TFs easily, but RTs will take more. Fades will have to heal at some point to take down the RT, so if you could wait for a fade to attack an electrified RT and then rush it, you have a good chance at killing it.

    Electrifying rts can, both in public games and in matches, be very useful lategame if the game is "standing still".

    If you keep losing rts as marine and aliens doesnt have any gestates, then electrifying is a good way to keep your rts alive. Even if they do have a 2nd hive, taking down electrified rts is very difficult without gestates, just keep the gorges away.

    Electrifying early game is, as mentioned above, usually a waste of res.

    if i elec a res for example then i put a phasegate by the restower so if an onos for ex come 2 kill the res i send my team thruw the pg to kill the onos and it is dommed.. normaly i dont elec the res because it is a waste of res normaly you dont have time to elec enything becauce you need the res and if you team mate isent that good you could get in trouble if you dont have the right upgrades
