and boy are my arms tired?
Note: This thread is bound to have spoilers abound...
Finished the game as a gun-slinging Toreador Cammy loyalist.
I must say, the firearms in the game were quite lackluster. That is, until I got my hands on a desert eagle. After that (with a little help from Celerity) I was an unstoppable instrument of death, pwning the end bosses in just a few clips. And the automatic shotgun... mmm.... Most FPS's don't have shotguns that gratifying. They should have made the starting guns better though :/
So anywhere, where was I? Oh yeah, the ending.
I hear the game has multiple endings (the original had 3 or 4, which was great). But I wonder, are the levels themselves different? Do you play through areas you wouldn't in another story arch? Or do all the stories conveniently lead along the exact same path and its only in the very final moments (I'm guessing cab ride onward) that you branch off the story in any significant way?
Also, for anyone playing a Nosferatu... how does that even work anyway? Cause you gotta go in to a whole lot of clubs stuff, and it seems at least 1/3 of the people you talk to in the game are human...
P.S. Did anyone else laugh their **** off when they fought the Sherrif and his Final Fantasy-style sword? Hah.
One last thing, someone mentioned in another thread that a big suprise for them was finding out who the cab driver was... well.. I guess maybe it was my story arch or maybe I just didn't ask the right dialog questions, but who is he? Caine? (I hope not, that'd be silly)

*SPOILER*
Yes, the cab driver is indeed Caine.
edit
Wow, the ending I got sure wasn't worth all those hours... HOW STUPID.
*SPOILER*
Jack sitting on a hill with the remains of the thingy I can't spell, laughing at the building expoding, killing all inside.
Oh ya, Level 5 Celerity > The Sherrif

I was a weak Toreador lots of waiting around corners for my health to regen ensued.

You move around places by sewers. I'm not sure how inside buildings works, invisibility maybe?
Anyone tell me what the Kuei Jin and Solo endings were? And you can also win working for the Prince?
And Doom, I had almost the exact same character as you, except with swords - once you get the super katana at the Sabbat lair, you're unstoppable.
Oh yeah - and does anyone know whether you can get a house in all the locations? or just the first 2?
**Spoilers**
I'm pretty sure only the endings are the same, you'll end up getting to the same final moments but there are levels you'll play only if you do different things then you have, for example, when you get the bracelet from the ocean hotel and go to back to that club (can't remember its name), you'll have the choice of giving it to either one of the sisters, one choice will get you back to the hotel for another task (rescuing the ghost or something like that), while the other just leads to a few other mission by the other sister.
I always save before i make a big choice like that, letting me play both options.

If you didn't like the ending, you don't understand the story or the universe the game is set in. According to some Vampire the Masquerade "experts" on another forum.
It doesn't matter how much of an kickass vampire you are, in the end you're just a puppet for even more kickass vampires ... like Jack and Caine for example

I lauged almost as hard when my character made an aquatic-animal-appendage joke after I helped the Japanese Schoolgirl Demon Huntress on her quest.
I haven't done a 2nd playthrough yet....I'm wondering whether playing a Malkavian or Nosferatu will change things enough to make it worth it.
Oh, and Doomeh, if you do play a 2nd time, try using the "money #" cheat in the console. It defaults to 1, I like it best between 1.25 and 1.4, and some less mature people may prefer 2 or higher.

Definitely Malkavian - it's fun without getting annoying, and gets really insane.
Nosferatu can get bothersome.
I played with money set to less than one (around 0.7ish), because I'm like that. Immature fools!
Playing malkavian was great, but near the end of the game they snuck in more and more generic (not crazy) PC dialogue. Probably cut some corners to get the game out the door.
And as for endings, the anarch ending rocked. Wont spoil it, but jacks little present makes you realize why beckett was so spooked about that coffin near the end
And if you dont think caine is the cab driver, take a look at him with level 2 or higher auspex (Shows as undead) and then take a look at the cab driver sound files
The 2nd leather outfit you get comes to mind.... Pimpin.
But, as someone up there said, you really have to understand the World of Darkness to get the full effect out of them. I even guessed beforehand how it was going to play out, because it's pretty obvious if you do know the universe well.
Jack was obviously Smiling Jack, and the cab driver pretty much screamed "Caine" at you.

Ya... woohoo at those.
Super Katana?
And I started a second playthrough as a Gangrel, they have some cool abilites

Oh and you can inflict your insanity on your enemies!

They did kind of drop hints to this (especially that the folder containing his dialog is called Cain), but it seems ridiculous from a plot standpoint that "The Caine" is the one taking your around.

I still havent had a rematch with that damn stop sign, I still smack it with my girly bat every time I go by there.
Still, it was a very enjoyable game, and one of these days I'll play through again - hopefully a less painful experience with the 1.2 patch.
Troika Games definitely didn't deserve to be shut down though, you could see the talent they had even if Bloodlines didn't shine as brightly as it should.
