Seriously, just trying it for a bit will give you all the answers you need, and it's an easy uninstall too, no leftover crap.

Anyone know of an extention for FF that makes it more like Opera's tabbed browsing? By which I mean instead of just tabbed browsing, the tabs controll embeded windows that are resizable inside the main wondow.

That's the one feature of Opera that I really like that I havn't found out how to do with Firefox.

I have looked through the full list of extensions more than once, and I can't remember any of them letting you do anything like that. I even downloaded the extension that lets you configure almost anything imaginable with tabs, and it didn't have anything like that. I think you will have to use Opera for that, and no one will get mad at you for using Opera instead of Firefox.

wow what a coincidence I just changed from IE to firefox yesterday.

I love the middle click "brings up a new tab" option so I dont have to open lots of windows.

The reason for that is because Internet Explorer is part of the operating system. Firefox is a separate program. Judging the initial footprint of the two programs isn't really fair, nor a good judge of the worth of either program.

However, there are memory issues with Firefox that prevents Firefox from releasing memory. This can be fixed by minimizing and maximizing Firefox.

With over 150 Firefox extensions, it is unlikely that you can't get the functionality that you want.

Opera has got a lot of nifty features, but I just feel that it's too bloated. It's like a safe version of IE with more features and tabbed browsing. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Gmail should work with Opera now (according to my Opera-friendly sibling).

Firefox is my browser of choice (until I can get ym hands on OmniWeb, at least), it is secure, and has actually had major upgrades in the last 3 years, unlike a certain Explorer.

    <a href='http://www.chrispederick.com/work/firefox/webdeveloper/' target='_blank'>Web Developer Toolbar</a> - The only extension I use.

What extensions (if any) do you have? I don't even know how you would make links open in a new window without extensions on a normal click. As for mouse gestures, you need to download an extension for that. I know I posted a link to a page with extensions at least once in this thread.

I had a look on extensions and it sorted most of my problems, I havn't downloaded anything yet so i dont know any problems there yet. But for now there is only one thing and i couldn't find an extension for it: I want my bookmarks to be in kolumns not just a mile long straight down that i need to scroll tru, can anyone help plz?

Edit: I tried DLing a trailer of RB6 4, firefox opens and plays it in the window. I want it to ask me where to DL it.

    Right click link>Save Link As.

As for your bookmarks.. try hitting ctrl+B. Then you can do searches through your bookmarks. I know it's not what you want but it could be better. I have no actual idea of how to make the bookmarks appear in columns so I'm presenting an alternative here.

Well thanks for the answear but I were thinking of saving it on my computer so i can use it offline for example and so I dont have to stream or DL the whole thing every time I want to see it.

I don't remember which one it is, but one of the extensions allows you to save the current page to your desktop by right-clicking on the page, just like you can do in IE. If you want to have files downloaded rather than opened when you click on a link to them, go to Tools -> Options, and look in the Downloads section. There should be a list of file types that Firefox will automatically open when you click on a link for them. Anything not listed there should give you a prompt where you can open the file or save it. I hope this helps.

Actually, after I made that last post, I tried using the "Save Link As" option, and it downloaded the file just like the "Save Target As" option in IE. That was for a pdf file.
