New Map Ideas, Post Here!

<div class="IPBDescription">post ur map ideas here.</div> One idea I had was to make a room in the base that'd be func_weldable, so u could weld open the door and inside could be some stuff, i dunno what though, maybe put a command station in a room and maybe be able to seal the room off from aliens so the marines could have tele's in there and get outta the room, but no aliens in lol. Seeing as that would be fair, could you set a health on the func_weldable door so that every time a welder welds it shut, an alien could hurt the door until it break again? That'd be fair, so no ono's rush to quickly. And they have better time to strategize and all inside. I think it'd be a little fairer cuz ono's trammple marines when they get into heards, as u see in most servers. And that sux, so a little more help for the marines =). Thanks!!

    Yeah the welding thing can really be toyed with, too bad I don't know how to use it. Anyway though for those of you that are good at mapping... you could make multiple doors you know, make a few really quick traveling paths for both teams and the others really slow paths (long ways and short cuts) then make it take a long time to weld the short cuts doors so you can 'seal off the area' and then the door can only be opened from the marines side. Gives them a much needed advantage in hallways.

    Hmmm... I just got an idea about a map that could be fun and that would make the marines make use of the flashlight a bit more often... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    It could be some sort of abandoned spaceship of some sort that has been infested by aliens. The powersupply should of course be offline... <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
    Anyway... a very dark map with a couple of very dark areas. I realize this would be hard as marine at first... but it could be fun...
    A map where a marine thinks something like "No way... I'm not going alone in there..." <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
    And the aliens more like... "MRRrrrmmrrr... my home!". <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
    If it's possible, one objective for the marines would be to locate the powersupply and repair it (hint: welder).
    The aliens should of course try to get those nasty marines out of the ship at any cost. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I don't think it should be completely dark.. How about some emergency lights here and there? (Red once of course) And maybe some red strobes. Navigating through a level and fighting at the same time would be hard if you're not using anything but your flashlight.     hehe... yeah I know... but that's kinda the point... aliens and marines arent always exactly equal and besides... the marine team that fullfills those objectives can be proud!     That's sucha tight idea goo, I'ma use that in my map as well, the base will be lit, but most corridos will be dark, so u have to watch out for moving stuff, some creepy SFX in the cooridors with busted pipes. Now that'd make sucha nice map. Keep adding more ideas here guys! This will help people with mind blocks for mapping =).

    Another great idea came in my head with func_weldable and the func_randomize. What if you could use the func_randomize to allow door triggers to function randomly each time a round goes by. Or what if u could use the func_weldable to activate security doors to block aliens in the game, temporarily until the aliens can find the command center and press a button to deactivate the security door. I dunno, just more ideas =). I really like the random door thing, so each time u play a round, different doors will be active so u can't just get an easy path every time!
