in NS General Discussion
<div class="IPBDescription">PLZZ HELPPPP MEEE!!!!!!</div> i just got the NS_INSTALL_V3_B5 install file and it doesnt tell me where to install it. i made sure it was the full install and not a patch. and when i start the install an error message says

"Setup has not detected a valid Half-Life or Steam (WON) Install. Do you wish to continue?"

I have a legal copy of HL2 and a validated steam account installed in "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam...."

I HAVE NO CLUE WHATS GOING ON!!!

could you tell me where the install directory for NS is???

on second thought im not sure if its Full or patch but the filename is NS_INSTALL_V3_B5

any help would be soooo great!!!

    You need to have HL1 installed, and run it at least once in any map.

    Just to let you know HL2 doesn't = HL1. You need HL1 to be able to play this.

    How did you purchase HL2? If you bought it over Steam, and got the Silver or Gold package, it includes HL1. If not, then yes, you gotta buy HL1.

    No? it comes with HL_Source.... which is half life redone.... u cant play NS on HL-Source... IIRC

    Indeed. Silver and Gold allow you to play <i>anything</i> on Steam at the moment, which allowed me to take a look at CZ. A brief look, as I might add.
