    Thanx for that site l0tus...
    I just have a question. Does the spacing matter?

    for example, does it matter if the spacing is like this:
    resource1024 768

    rather than

    resource 1024 768 ?

    (if so, what spacing should i use? sorry for being picky, i just want to make sure i'm doing it right <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

    EDIT: do i change the filename of the actual tga files as well? (copy them and change them to 1024 or do i just change it in the .txt files?)

    Hope you don't mind me asking all these questions. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Are you looking at the first one? (<a href='http://webpages.charter.net/elitegaming/' target='_blank'>http://webpages.charter.net/elitegaming/</a>)

    I'm really sorry, I should have noted this in my previous post. I'm looking at the advanced page. (<a href='http://webpages.charter.net/elitegaming/advance.htm' target='_blank'>http://webpages.charter.net/elitegaming/advance.htm</a>)
    I need a more detailed explaination about the .txt files, as well as what I have to rename. Sorry. =X

    Eeeek <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    alrighty, this is getting confusing. The cake program is great for the basic steam splash. But its still the advanced that i need help with! =( I did all that i was told too. Made the two txt files, and i tried renaming the .tga files to 1024_1_a_loading.tga instead of 800_1_a_loading.tga.

    But now my ns splash is the default hl one...with gordon holdin a crowbar..

    If it helps this is what my two txt files look like. I didn't know if the formatting mattered (the spacing etc.)
    BackgroundLayout.txt
    <!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->resolution 1024 768

    resource/background/1024_1_c_loading.tga  scaled  512 0
    resource/background/1024_1_d_loading.tga  scaled  768 0

    resource/background/1024_2_d_loading.tga  scaled  768 256

    resource/background/1024_3_d_loading.tga  scaled  768 512<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
    The other txt file just uses the same text so i copied and pasted...
    Help if you can <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    EDIT: I've given up, if anyone else gets this. Please post explaining exactly how <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
