Sound Problem

my 1. problem is, that whenever I am in a game and doing some comms like "I need some Ammo", it is being said 2 or 3-times faster than normal.

my 2. problem results from the 1. one i quess, the compuer shuts down and restarts as soon as iam trying to close ns

Does anybody know this problem?

    I just know, that NS sound is system related. that means, if u select annother sound in- and output device (on system properties), NS takes these. What i would do:
    You could first try to disable your sound card completely, by using the hardware manager. NS will no give an error message, that there was no sound driver found..
    If you now can close NS properly and dont have any other problems, it was your system that caused these problems.
    If there still are some crashing problems, something is wrong with the NS installation.
    That would be all i could say so far..

    Thank u for this idea, i deaktiveted Standardgameport and MPU-401 MIDI device (whatever they are), but let CMI8738 PCI Audio Driver activeted to still have sound and it worked, commands are in normal speed again <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
