First month playing and I'm hooked!
I can safely say this is PROBABLY the most fun I've had with a computer game, ever, the only exception being Operation Flashpoint (classic FPS... I loved it and still do). That's ALOT to say considering I've played alot of games!
Heck, I even stopped playing HL2 (first time too!) mid-way thru the campaign to keep playing NS...
The gameplay is just PERFECT! There's an incredible thrill in succesfully sneaking up to a marine and biting his head off and then getting away with it before his friends know what happened! I love being a skulk or fade... it's just... 0wnage!
I've been playing almost entirely alien, marine's cool too, but alien is just... wow, unlike any other. I keep seeing flashbacks back to "Alien" except this time I'm the hunter .
Simply incredible.
As soon as I get $25 I'm preordering NS2.
I do have a couple questions though maybe y'all experienced people can answer.
1) Does the preorder of $25 take away from the $55-60 price they're projecting?
2) Is there anyway I can buy actual stock in the "unknown worlds" company (just like say, buying Microsoft stock)? Is Unknown Worlds really a company or just a bunch of guys with talent?
3) Will NS2 be an actual seperate game or still a mod for something (i.e. will I need to buy something else other than NS)
4) I noticed the high projected sys reqs for NS2... are they planning on having it on the Unreal 3 engine? (would be sweet btw!)

Comments
1) I think so
2) I'm pretty sure you can't buy stock, but I'm not certain.
3) NS2 is a seperate retail game. You don't have to buy anything else.
4) Those system requirements are just an educated guess let's call it. The engine they're using is unknown.
Twas an excellent moment... ...
My saga all began on ns_caged... at the final week of 2.01... I spawned in a completely lamed up Generator Hive, and shed many tears, because I had yet to know that I could scale walls with my large toothed friend. Therefore, I was stuck in the hive until the end of the game, and when zapped to the ready room, I followed many marines to the pit of darkness that said in huge letters "Join Marines" (or something like that...)
From there on... I quit life.
now that you have been "saved", you must preach your new faith and save the rest of the "unclean masses." you must liberate more people from those crappy games out there
Well right now you can't preorder, but what you can do is make a donation to NS. If you donate $20 you'll also be able to take part in the beta testing of v3.0 B6.
and that was just playing Marine Side CO for one hour
NS is the greatest game ever, and I'm donating asap. NS has sucked me in and kept me there for about a year and a half (I joined august 2003, I just came to the forums in february).
Tryng to make some tactics ... screaming like a little girl if youre chased as gorg through the map by evil marines.
More fun and action as any other shooter or mmorpg has given me
I have only played a few other games since then, mainly in LAN. NS is simply the best.

For minimum system requirements yes that is high. For reccommended no, for minimum, yes.
HL2 was like 1.0ghz minimum and 64mb v-card I think.
1.03.. i'm an oldie
have never had a decent comp, connection, and mind all together in a winning combo all the way up till now otherwise i'd play a lot more
ns_caged was the first map on the maplist and in 1.0, most games took hours. Which is why most people played caged first.
