I download the ns 3 beta but it doesnt work. I have tried many things, but i dont know how kan i play it, if there is no ns.exe. And i cant find ns servers in steam.? can anyone help me??
Where did you download it from? Which file did you download exactly? If it was the automated installer, did it detect your half-life directory and proceed with the installation? Does NS show up in your list of games under Steam?
I downloaded ns 3 beta installer. I download it from this ns own page. I installed it but it says that there´s no steam or detected, but i have installed steam and half life earlier.
And no ns doesnt show on a list of games under the steam.
The installer should have found that directory automatically from the registry keys made by Steam.. so something tells me you haven't installed Steam correctly.
So point the installer to the address I described to you and it should work properly
Thanks! There´s only one problem. When i got to install ns setup says "there´s no steam installed". I have installed steam! I think thats why the default directory of installation is not .....steamapps\......
Well, uninstall Steam (or delete the folder if you can't uninstall it since it sounds like the NS install doesn't even recognize it). Then redownload the Steam install from somewhere else (doesn't matter if CS is included or not). Now download Half-Life off of your new Steam install. Then install NS after HL is all updated. Also make sure your NS install isn't corrupted.

Half-Life isn't a stand alone game anymore and is a part of Steam. I think you're using the original install of Half-Life..
Ok. I do this= i downloaded steam from steampowder pages and then installed it into C\valve\steam. The i installed hl1 in C\valve\steam\steamapps\email\half-life Then i played hazard course once! Then i downloaded ns installer and installed ns in c\valve\steam\steamapps\email\ What did i do wrong?
That´s the problem! NS DEFAULT install phat is not the c\valve\steam\steamapps\.... . The Default path is C\programm files\ns. If i change the install path nothing happens. When i start the installation of ns setup says there´s no steam detected in your computer. (that´s wery strange because if the steam is runnig setup says "the steam is runnig. Stop it so the installation can start)

First you want to make note as to where you installed Steam.. usually it's C:/Program Files/Steam
Then once you found the location of Steam find out where the Half-Life directory is WITHIN Steam. It's usually at:
Steam\SteamApps\yourSteamAcount@emailaddress.net\half-life

Natural-Selection, my friend, is for Half-Life(Under Steam of course)..

2. Make sure the install path POINTS TO: c:/valve/steam/steamapps/your emaill address/half-life
3. Install and at the end check to see if the full path to NS looks something like this c:/valve/steam/steamapps/your emaill address/half-life/ns
Point the installer to the folder where Half-Life is installed and you can proceed with the installation..
if this is too difficult for you get a friend who is more PC savvy to install NS for you.
The installer needs to know where your half-life folder is in order to install NS.
