For a while there, we were running out of mapping gurus to bow down to. In addition to R&D, I have some unfinished business with a certain large system for use in NS that I'm attending to, and I'm also available as extra support for NS bugfixes on an as-needed basis as we push toward 3.0 final, which is the internal focus for the majority of the team.

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Why won't you be working on ZHLT?<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Other people have begun to take over development, and I don't have the time to resume my role as point man on the project. I think ZHLT will continue being used for at least another year even with HL2 released, and there are certainly improvements that can be made, but I'd rather not spend time on technology that's being phased out when I also have the start of a better system coded.
I couldn't work on the new tools while I was at EA without giving up IP rights and I haven't opened up those projects since before I started there, but given the choice between the new codebase and the ZHLT one (or even Valve's evolution of the old HL tools released in the HL2 codebase), I'd rather start clean.
yay. now start working on netrad for Source <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Welcome Back.
I was sad to see you go and it is good to see you back.
Why won't you be working on ZHLT? And what will your primary task be on the Dev team now that b5-1 has been rolled out?
