All texture maps are 1024x1024. I only use 512x512 for very small models now.

Wow. That second marine should be reason enough to make NS:S.

Hmmz, I still hope IF they make NS:S they keep the original marine concepts

The Arms are exact duplicates of each other. Its not likely Ill release this for any HL1 based game as it would choke the HL1 engine. It weights in at 6500 polygons, so it would only really be useful for something source based. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm afraid i'm going to hit you with a spoon Brig. For i know, that 6500 would in no way choke the HL1 engine. As a test, quite a while back, i started making a little 100 poly model that i could spawn in HL. After about 3500 (350,000 polies) spawns, i started getting FPS problems, after 4000 spawns, i got serious FPS problems, after 4500, i got a really sketchy error...

Moral of the story is, stress test for the win.

owen but think like if you had 24 of these guys running around, that like 80k polygons or so, which is more than you had in your stress test dealy, so it would choke the engine, right?

even more realistically, you'll really only ever see maybe 5-6 people on your screen at a time, but that is equivalent to when you had 400 of the 100 poly objects on your screen in your test

I did a test, I went over 100k polies before it crashed. It was really choppy though.

again i say... 80k wouldn't make it choke... because you're never going to see 80k polies on screen, you're only ever going to see half of that, because you can only see one side of the model at a time... besides which, did i mention 450,000 is about the limit? i think i did. please, read my post before replying to it next time.

no fair you changed your post after i had posted, you put in 3500, 4000, and 4500 instead of the 350, 400, and 450 youhad before

i was going off those numbers, i guess you made a mistake copying it down and thats what i read

sorry for the misunderstanding, but you can't really change your numbers after i've posted and then critisize me for using the wrong ones and not reading your post right
